  • Runners, Ruckers and a Tweener!! – from Shooter

With excellent conditions of 55 degree weather 8 HIMs embarked on the Scramble. Some early some on time and of course there is Cowbell right after rolling in hot. One needs to recognize the consistency picking up right where he left off from his F3 break while he shifted to straight running. PAX completed a few warmups of Torso twists, grass grabbers, Butt kicks, Imperial walkers, Hillbillies and Good Mornings. Instructions 20 out and back for the Ruckers and the Shooter route down W Causeway approach zig zagging back to the AO. Upon return completed some stretches and wrapped up..

Appreciate the post and until the next Gloom 👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼!!

  • Time to put some RCR miles on the board – from Waterpik

Steve, Cowbell, Shooter, and YHC took off down to the lake front and put 4 miles on the board for RCR. 3 Ruckers: Jose10k, Akbar, and Hogs Breath. They claimed to have solved the world’s problems, however, Hogsbreath forgot to write them down. Oh well, perhaps next week.

  • Foggy on the Escalator – from Russo

I realize this may be late in at least one or two people’s eyes, but we can’t all be superstars.

    Warmup (10x IC)
    Seal jacks
    Grass grabbers
    SSHs
    Arm circles
    Torso twists
    Imperial walkers

    Thang

I tried to make at least half of the beatdown mosey-related for the RCR folks, so we did just that: moseyed around old Mandeville, stopping on average every block or two to perform reps of 10 exercises in what I call an “Escalator”, or as Chewy rightly called it: “Sudoku”. Exercise 1 gets 10 reps, Exercise 2 gets 9 reps, down to one. Next round, Exercise 1 gets 1 rep, 2 gets 10, R&R until as Steve was first to chime each will get 55 reps for a total of 550 movements. Math!

    The exercises:
    Shoulder tap plank jacks
    Star jumps
    Merkins
    Burpees
    Jump squats
    Murder bunnies
    American hammers
    Crunchy frogs
    Donkey kicks
    Imperial squat walkers

The weather: Foggy! As thick as I’ve seen this year (39 days in). This, humid so sweat was a plenty. Around 64 degrees to start, so within the 3.7 degree window that Quarterpipe will join us in.

    The music: Not Jose’s

We timed it well enough that there was no Mary, so COT, NOR, announcements, and prayer closed us out.

Coffee afterward, which is apparently a thing and I may or may not have needed a special engraved invitation for.

Thank you all for joining and making the world a better place. SYITG

  • Ruckers Rule!! – from Shooter

With mild conditions 7 Hims took the 💊 to get out there and put in some work.
5 mins of warmup and then YHC sent the Ruckers out for 20 out and 20 back who ruled the day over the runners. Runners took the East Causeway approach sticking to the sidewalks, through Golden shores and to the entrance gate and back down Messina to the AO..
    Wrapped up with some Mary.

Closed out with COT, until the next Gloom
    👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼!!

  • Hammer Time: The Return of the Smackdown – from The Hammer

    Warm-up (The Forge):
    • Sledge Swings – Arm circles forward and backward (because the hammer must be warmed up before striking).
    • Anvil Hops – High knees to get the legs fired up.
    • Grass Grabbers – Toy soldiers to loosen the hamstrings.

    The Beatdown (Hammer Strikes Again):
(Each exercise represents a different part of a hammer’s swing—because every rep is a blow of punishment.)

Round 1: The Wind-Up Mini Murph
    • 5 Pull-ups (You’re lifting the hammer over your head.)
    • 10 Push-ups (Pressing down with force.)
    • 15 Squats (The weight of the hammer bearing down.)
    • Run a lap around the block, stopping at each corner for core work:
    • Corner 1: “Hammer Hold” – 20-second plank
    • Corner 2: “Jackhammer” – 20 mountain climbers
    • Corner 3: “Wrecking Ball” – 15 big-boy sit-ups
    • Corner 4: “Sledge Slam” – 10 burpees (because why not?)

    Round 2: The Follow-Through
    • Repeat the Mini Murph (5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 squats, 5 rounds).
    • Another lap around the block with core exercises at each corner (same as above).

    Finisher: “Nailed It”
    • Hammer Smashes – 20 jumping lunges (each leg = 1)
    • Drop the Hammer – 10 burpees
    • Victory Hold – 1-minute wall sit

    COT and Out!

Hammer, thanks for returning and reminding everyone that workouts don’t have to be fun to be legendary.

  • Well, Well, Well did someone ring Cowbell? – from Shooter

Shifting to a little more weight lifting in the New year. YHC still plans to keep his AO commitments and his down payment of Qing..
My what a surprise he would have on this Scramble with Cowbell rolling up in the man wagon (Suburban) in Cowbell fashion right on the dot as the PAX was already starting on the warmup.
Today produced 3 groups of 3 different speeds of runners and 1 lonely Rucker in Akbar.

Normal route with 2x loop for some, 1 loop for others and a 20 out and back for the other..

Prayers for LA fire victims and for Roxanne battling liver issues.

Appreciate the post and until the next Gloom 👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼!!

  • Welcome Back Hammer – from Waterpik

3 HIMs took the red pill to brave the cold, windy, damp streets of Mandeville.
    Round Robin:
4 sets of max out pull ups, 10 big boys. Bear Crawl to the street.
Run to the lake front, stop at each intersection for 10 reps of different styles of merkins, followed up with 10 reps of a core exercise there and back. One loop around the the marsh with wife pleasers at the end. COT with Hammer praying us out with intentions of the families affected by the terrorist attack in New Orleans and the mental health of everyone.

  • Coming to you live in 25, first Saturday beatdown of the year! – from Jose10k

OK Waterpik was the only one out there early doing the pre-thing. It was a nice chilly morning. Started off with the usual warm-up size straddle hops torso twist grass grabbers windmills you know you got the usual Bushwacker grumble grumble as always. All right mosey to Noah’s ark this is where my partner in crime Jv took over. It was a simple Dora 100 Americans 200 LBC’s 300 squats while partner one did the exercise partner to ran the block. After that I took over and we decided to mosey to the marsh stopping at every other stop sign to do 23 squats 10 Merkens in honor of Notre Dame winning 23 to 10 against Georgia. Once we got to the basketball courts, we split it up into three teams each team two teams battling on the basketball courts for six minutes while the third team was on the playground equipment doing sets of five pull-ups 10 Merkins 15 squats rinse and repeat over and over again Both teams ended up in a tie which to be honest I didn’t prepare for that so we kind of waste a little bit of time trying to figure out who was gonna be the next team up. My team got destroyed Truecoat and Zoolander, which is too much in the paint for our only one basketball player Grundy to try to compete against him then we mow it all the way back straight around there circled around the flag And then Butt Splice and Manny join us for coffee afterwards, which is always a pleasant surprise and that’s about it nightmare after Christmas or nightmare before Valentine’s Day or nightmare during Mardi Gras season or hell it might be nightmare on Memorial Day, but Grundy’s getting some coming soon so be on the lookout for thatI appreciate y’all coming out. Appreciate Jv help me you and I’d say I’m out. See you in the glom gentlemen.

  • I have the Q, you have the Q? – from Jose10k

5 HIMs showed up this chilly morning to put some miles in. No one was on the Q sheet, so YHC picked it up. Apparently the site Q and Waterpik had some correspondence prior to. Oh well, I led the warm up, the Shooter took the runners on the usual route. BD and I rucked to the pier and back. Prayers for those families and service men affected in the Quarter
