  • Well that was close!!! – from Shooter

2 Ruckers and 4 runners took the red pill 💊 and got some work in on this Gloom.. YHC met Hammer for some pre Spartan. As always it did not disappoint. I just wish the pull-ups would get easier at some point but they have not to this point so just get em done..

Ruckers 20 out and back and Runners down the sidewalk to Monroe and through Golden shores foregoing back to Monroe and down Messina.. Close call with 2 converging cars at the turn on Monroe but thankfully no issues.

We returned on time and wrapped up with Hammer praying us out.

    Until the next Gloom 👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼!!!

  • The Sauna Sweat Showdown: When the Humidity Hits 110% and the PAX fights back – from Jose10k

80 degrees and 1000% humidity at 5 am? Seriously, WTF! Hammer was crazy enough to join me this morning in the Sweatapalooza. Having two consecutive late days (not getting home til after 7:30), I went back to the good ol ladder workout. 12 reps for each exercise followed by a 1/5 mile loop. All with a coupon.
    Squats
    Lunges (2 is 1)
    Kettlebell swings
One hand on the coupon, one hand on the ground merkins, alternate 1 is 1
    Shoulder presses
    Curls
    Triceps
Finished up with a one mile run
At least if the Spartan race has humidity, we’ll be prepared for it.

  • Cool beatdown on a almost cool morning – from Mobydick

The Gipper opened with a cool breeze for a change. A six man pax was on hand for guided Tabata of seven exercises and three rounds. Jose 10K and Hammer were early birds. A brief period of stretches got us started.
YHC being the old grazer didn’t want to deprive the younger crowd of a full beat down dialed up a 1 min wo 30 sec rest Tabata of CFrogs/Squats/Crunches/SSH/Merkins/Toe touches/1min Run. Note the getting up and down between exercise by design to add another element. On your own pace guaranteed everyone got a full measure of what they needed including me.

From the breathing and srainibg in the 3rd round mission accomplished.
COT and prayers of gratitude for or inner strengths closed out the morning.

  • Spartan Pre Gipper Workout – from Jose10k

Holy smokes, a cold front came through? It was in the 60s to start this beatdown. I was excited to post this morning because YHC received a text late the night before informing him that he wasn’t going solo this morning. Back to school again, 1st grade, run a loop, Next, complete 1st grade and then 2nd grade, run the short loop, returning to the start. The PAX would try to graduate and get through the 12th grade!
    1st Grade – Squats
    2nd Grade – Monkey Humpers
    3rd Grade – Lunges (2 is one)
    4th Grade – BBS
    5th Grade – Flutter Kicks

  • Merkins and Peter Parkers – from Waterpik

It was the last gasp of summer for st Tammany parish and teachers such as Jose 10k who had to jet right after the workout to get to school. For F3, nothing really new was on the docket – it was just merkins and Peter Parker’s inter
Mixed into every turn the pax took on its 4 mile route for the old mandeville scramble.

  • How about some sprints? – from Shooter

YHC arrived early at 0500 believing there would be some Spartans out but I guess with Zoolander’s July ISI closed a break was in order.. Russo arrived and we had some pre chatter and stretching by Mr. McGruff and the exercise equipment.. It wasn’t long after that Speedy turned the corner and then Hammer as well.. The PAX was small considering the last few weeks, however we jumped into some warmups and stretches.. Russo journeyed out with his Ruck and was asked to pause at Messina/Monroe. He graciously obliged and the remaining 3 PAX ran down East Causeway approach to Monroe and then proceeded to meet him at the same location.. We completed 10 rounds of varying sprints and then proceeded to Mosey back to the AO..
Appreciate Speedy taking us out in prayer and for you gentlemen posting.

    Until the next Gloom 👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼!!

  • The Name Fits – from Waterpik

Speedy Gonzalez. Yep that’s right! When he shows up for the scramble, the average
Minute per mile decreases drastically. As in today, where he and Steve ran the last mile of the weekly 5k at a brisk 7:00 per mile. To put it bluntly, the man can move.

The rest of the Pax ran the lakefront route today 3.7 miles at 9:00 minute a mile pace.

Ruckers and runners, we had both.
