  • Winter’s Last Gasp – from Boo-Boo

    Two PAX arrived to high 50s, no humidity, and a nice breeze. Slowsey to the warmup pad. After a 10 minute warmup, PAX relocated to the JPAS loading dock for use of the ramp.

    The motto of the day, keep it simple (but not easy). DORA consisting of 100 big bois, 200 merkins, and 300. PAX 1 Scantrons up the ramp to the loading dock and runs back for a switch.

    Mosey back to the flag for three minutes of recovery stretch.

  • Pax Choice 12 or 2? – from Bolt

    As the pax gathered with no definitive Q signed up and KB presuming MacGyver’s declaration to post was also a commitment to Q,—YHC, still gimpy, gave the disclaimer and off to the warmup pad we went for IWx10, MMPGMx10, Abe SLOWgodas x10, Tie Fighters x10 a la Charmin (forward, backward per usual plus side to side with both chinooks), self love x10, SSHx20 and mosey to JPAX via KNOTs, shuffle each way, karaoke each way, high knees. Retrieve coupons.
    The pax were each asked 12 or 2? The votes favored “12” and thus it would be…12 exercises in succession per round (10 reps each) with 10 celebratory Blockees before starting the second round.

    Not only did MacGyver break a coupon as a Kotter, he also tried to “save” his blockees til the end, presumably bc he fell behind the old men??? YHC had none of it so we synced up and brought him into a soft landing with us before starting round two together (leave no man behind).

    Looking to get back in the gloom again this week, YHC answered the call from Boo-Boo to post and ultimately Q the workout.

  • Trio of Gold – from Fracsac

    YHC reached out for accountability and 2 pax answered the call.
    At 0530 the disclaimer was given and the three of us hit the warmup pad for regular stuff. Upon completing the coveted tie fighters, Charmin recommended a side lunge with chinooks which YHC made happen.

    With ISI on our minds, complete 1 minute 90 degrees arm hangs 10 seconds at a time.

    Mosey to JPAC for some dirty Mac Deuce followed by a set off 11s

    Mosey back to pad for another 30 seconds of arm hangs.

  • New Exicon: Shoulders, Knees, and Toes Plank – from Bolt

    As YHC prepped for ANOTHER work trip, the plan was to hedge against road warrior fatigue and grab a local workout before the flight and what better way to avoid the fartsack than to ask for HCs in exchange for taking the Q!? Boo-boo was the first HC and with a text to PVC there would be three—with YHC’s promise to adjust for PVC’s bum foot (me too, brother…me too) and thus a mostly stationary BD it would be.
    Warmorama of mostly 10 reps: Abe SLOWgodas, IW, Hill Billies, MMPGM, Tie Fighters R/L, OH and seal claps, chinooks, self love, and SSH x 20 to Frac’s favorite songs with a cherry on top of 2 min. of February NOLA ISI pull up hangs (10 secs work/20 secs rest x 12 rounds) and then off to retrieve coupons for JPAX 7s.
    The Thang:
    6 Blockees followed by a mosey from the sidewalk to JPAX entrance columns for a single Shoulders, Knees, and Toes planks (TM new exicon!) which is a 30 count plank: punch each arm, shoulder taps, crossover hip taps, Peter Parker, Parker Peter, Low Plank, low Plank Jack, back to high plank, cross over toe tap.
    Continue 5 blockees/2SKT Planks for the rest of 7s.
    Mosey back to warmup pad for 1 min full body stretch/cool down breathing. COT; honored men—off to the airport…

  • More Kettlebells Baby! – from Boo-Boo

    Three men assembled in the gloom for a kettlebell-themed beatdown.

    Warmup consisted of Abe Vigodas x10, Thai fighters x15, Parker Peter/Peter Parker x15, Grass Grabbers, Mountain Man Poopers x15

    Scantroned (Scantronned- awaiting adjudication by Hawg) to JPAS where kettlebells awaited for a 30-second AMRAP and rest for 30 seconds. Three round per sequence.

    Sequence 1 x3:
    25 lb KB swings
    35 lb Gobblet Squats
    45 lb over shoulder throws

    Sequence 2 x3:
    Deficit merkins using 25 lb KBs
    35 lb Triceps extensions
    45 lb Sandies (Blockees using a sandbag)

    Sequence 3 x3:
    25 lb Gorilla rows
    Burpee crossovers (American Hammers using the 35 lb KB)
    45 lb curls

    Sequence 4 x4:
    25 lb Racked Overhead presses
    35 lb KB swings
    Big Bois hold the 45 lb bag

    Carried heavy things back and dropped off at YHC’s vehicle on the way to the flag.

  • Burpeepalooza: Heisenberg would’ve loved this one… – from Bolt

    It went like this: YHC showed up to the last “chapter” of the Tu pamphlet (book) club…sans BD where Boo-Boo remarked he had been slacking which was interpreted as a cry for accountability and who was I to not oblige!? Space Cowboy unwittingly dragged me into MABA Monday so I offered to Q Wednesday with a promise to deliver the RDA of burpees, penance for not doing anything Tu, and accountability to all pax posting.
    The gloom came after a short night of sleep and a very cold, windy morning to accompany my bad attitude and sore body (courtesy of Space Cowboy); the pax were counting on me and guilt/obligation brought me here. The playlist demanded what we’d do—Burpeepalooza!
    Warmorama with Mosey to JPAS, Rapper’s Delight (of course): Abe SLOWgodas, OH/Seal/FAC/RAC, Self Love, LSS, Willie Mays Hayes, SSH, Sampson Stretch, finish with 10 burpees IC even though the Q called 5 (do what I do/say during, not before the action…)
    The Thang: A group of songs requiring burpees on a certain word/phrase with different body movements for each song. Leveling up burpees between songs to honor Heisenberg. All pax did at least 155 burpees (playlist below), mosey back to flag and burpee on the six. COT

  • Keeping Wednesdays Alive – from Boo-Boo

    Three PAX showed up to clear skies, no wind, air temps in the mid-40s, and commitment to keep Wednesdays at JPAX alive.

    Slowsey to the pad for a warmup consisting of Grass Grabbers, Imperial Walkers, forward and reverse arm circles, Mountain Man Poopers with Good Mornings, Parker Peter/Peter Parkers, Thai Fighters, and Abe Vigodas.

    Scantroned halfway to JPAS and mosey the remainder of the way.

    The Thang

    7 rounds (8 for Mahatma and Frac to support the 6) of 12 reps per exercise, no rest between reps, 1 minute rest after each round

    Mosey up the stairs and back down the ramp.

    PAX appreciated the new light at the stairs, but also noticed the staged coupons were exposed. After all rounds were completed, PAX slowseyed to the stairs to reorganize the coupon cache.

    Mosey to the jogging path for a burpee at each light pole (regardless of whether it was lit or not) around JPAS.

    Scantroned halfway to the flag, moseyed the other half. COT with prayers for Mahatma’s niece, Frac’s parents, Boo-Boo’s SIL, and Charmin’s family. Boo-Boo out!

  • 2 Weeks is 2 Long! – from Bolt

    YHC had been under the weather and traveling, leading to too many fartsacks and too many excuses. Having had enough the call was made for HCs to Waning Wednesday at The Goldmine. Boo-boo was first to answer with a choice offered: The Goldmine or Pontiff and YHC texted with Pontiff…in the event he fartsacked so as not to leave Boo-boo solo. Space Cowboy HC’d which meant The Goldmine would prevail for both pax previously destined for Pontiff!
    Having started this whole thing, YHC prepped to Q—speaker and Frac’s favorite song in hand. Disclaimer and off to the warmup pad for LSS, Abe SLOWgodas, Tie Fighter R/L, SSH, Shoulder taps, PP/PP, OH claps.

    Mosey to JPAX via shuffle each direction, karaoke each direction, KnOT walk, Mosey, switching at each light pole.

    The Thang: KISS—ascending ladder BLIMPS (Burpees, Lunges, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Plank Jacks, Squats) with 10 step ups 2:1 after each letter:
    5 Burpees, step ups
    Add a letter and 5 reps to the count
    5 Burpees, 10 Lunges, step ups…
    …all the way to 30 Squats
    YHC had to pause several times for HR to drop below 160 before resuming as Space Cowboy lapped us, per usual.

    Mosey back to warmup pad for Mary, pax choice: LBCx30, Dying cockroachesx30, Protractor Penguins (this one sucked and WILL return)x5 at 15/90/45/15/45. Switch to AMRAP of pax choice while 30 sec. dead hang is timer: plank, xfactors, and close out time with high plank. COT
