  • ONE Back to School Special – from Hogs Breath

With the leaves falling, and that pre-dawn glow in the air, it sure seemed like a fall day, until HYC stepped out of the air conditioning and got blasted by a 85* humid morning! The leaves weren’t falling from crisp fall air, but from dying in the heat! It was prefect looks for a fall Back to School day, but definitely not the air temperature!

Since Murdock was down in Buenos Ares, YHC choose a Back-to-School theme versus a Beach Body workout so running could incorporated. (Murdock is recovering from ankle surgery).
At 5:30 YHC began, thinking maybe some more would be late. Alas, it would be a lonely back to school day!
Warm Up – good mornings, toy soilders, world’s greatest, squat to raise the roof
First thing, yhc was excited for school, so he sprinted across the lawn!
Followed by Math class: a round of 11’s squats / merkins
Then on to Spelling with some ABCs – laying on the ground and spell the alphabet with your legs, a good ab killer!
It was time for a break, so on to Recess and Lunch! Sprint around the circle sidewalk, stopping four times for some a set of crab cakes!
Then Social Studies with Around the World lunges!
And finished out by dissecting that frog in Science class, three rounds of star jumps and crunchy frogs!
This brought me to 6:00 so I rounded out some Extra Credit, and went for a 1 mile jog to finish out on time! Thoroughly drenched with sweat, I had a good beatdown and formulated some plans for future beatdowns!
Till next time in the Gloom!

  • Hot and Humid Jenga – from Hogs Breath

YHC began the morning with a phone that had completely turned off during the night. Luckily YHC’s body normally wakes up for F3 time. So he was able to hop out of bed, scramble on the pre-placed F3 clothes, and amble to the 007.
YHC had previously spoke with Pauly D and was going to create a leg focused beatdown. But the dead phone and the 90% humidity with an 80° temperature dissuaded him. Instead a round of the F3 Jenga ensued!
The game is simple, a Jenga yard game with F3 exercises written on the blocks. Each time a PAX draws out a Jenga block. We perform 10 of the beatdown listed. If a blank blocks is drawn, we perform dealers choice.
At first, it was YHC and Pass Interference, we did a warm-up of some SSH and others. Then we hopped directly into the game, after about 20 minutes Pauly D rambled up in his large black pick up. He was able to hop right in to some mountain climbers . Eventually, YHC was the one that toppled the tower, so YHC and Pauly D performed burpees while Pass Interference reassembled the tower. With the time at 6:13 AM we moseyed one circle lap and ended with a COT promptly at 6:15. Although all pax said that we didn’t have time for coffee, we still ended up talking for 25 minutes around the shovel flag.
Thank you for the chance to lead these HIM we also decided to have a happy hour soon, more details to follow…

  • Something Two – from Hogs Breath

YHC arrived speeding in to muggy air and a quiet 007. A min after two headlights of Pass Interference work car bobbed in the gloom.
The warm up began, nothing spectacular, some imperial walkers, grass grabbers, etc.
the Thang: a run with a few deck of death cards thrown in. Of course on Pass turn to pull a card, he pulled a 300m sprint! That took it out of us!
Larger, rinse, repeat for 30 mins! Then Coffeteria at Starbucks.
It’s been a busy and hectic week, thanks for staring this week off good!

  • Singular Peer Pressure – from Hogs Breath

I showed up at 5:29 AM. Not another soul around and thinking that anytime the Q, Pass Interference, would show up. So I jumped out and quickly planted the shovel flag. Alas, no Pass Interference showed, just as I was considering rolling the shovel flag up and hopping back in and driving away. I looked up at the Bayou front and what did my wandering eyes see? A houseboat with two males sitting, staring back at me. Even though I was all alone, I felt the peer pressure to represent. F3 could not let a chance to EH go by.
    The warm up :
nothing crazy some SSH, good mornings, world‘s, greatest stretch, etc.

Coming up on The Thang, it was relatively simple. I looked at an old backblast I had in my phone’s notepad, and did an exercise followed by a lap on the circle loop. Then back to the shovel flag for another exercise.
v-ups, break dance merkins, pull ups, ya know, stuff like that!
I continued this manner for 35 minutes. I was hoping to be able to EH the two males on the houseboat, however, when I approach the houseboat, they quickly jumped inside. So, although it might not have been from a HIM the peer pressure did get to me, and I had to perform a Beatdown for a small audience.

And since it was just me, I have a Coffeteria back at the house!

  • Eh some cards, then coupons and stuff – from Hogs Breath

YHC arrived to the 007 to see Twinspan waiting already!

After planting the shovel flag, Pass Interference arrived.

So the three yuts began our warm up. Only to see Bumper pull up! We did some, good mornings, toe touches, ya know that kinda thang.

Then a good round of a Morning Motivator! (If ya know, ya know)

The the real fun began. We flipped over some cards. Partnered one pax would mosey from Shovel flag to Official Flag pole, and some type of cardio back (back-pedal, skip, side shuffle, etc) while the other began to do a “100” on the three cards. First cards drawn were Wogo squats, shoulder taps, and derkins.
YHC saw the humidity was beginning to affect our cardio, so an audible was made to do a coupon walk.
During the walk some mumble chatter was made about listening to satanic music; aka Twinspan’s mother thought AC/DC was ‘murderer music’! So we dropped the coupons and YHC tried to do a “Thunderstruck” waterfall beatdown, but alas no one could hear the tinny music from my pathetic phone speakers! YHC will bring this back!

So we finished with some Mary.

Fun was had by all! Completed with COT and Coffeteria.

  • Baseball Themes – from Hogs Breath

YHC was throwing a small boil on Easter Sunday for his father in law, when he saw Pauly D bee-bopping around the neighborhood. Taking it as an opportunity the HIM invited Pauly D and his 2.0 in for some hot crawfish. YHC EH’d his 13 year old 2.0 to Monday’s beatdown but only if it was ‘baseball’ themed.

    Challenge accepted

    Disclaimer – Given

    The warm-up:
Some toy soldiers, butt kicks, mountain man poopers, and good mornings.

    The Thang:
A good round of Monday Motivator, which is SSH, Star hops, legs only SSH, and then hops from a countdown of 10,9…2,1.

After this we mosey’d to prearranged baseball Diamond with yard cones, in lieu of bases. We performed a 7 of Diamonds. Which is, 7 merkins at 1st base, 14 at 2nd, 21 merkins at 3rd, and then steal home. Rinse lather and repeat with LBC’s, air presses, and squats.

Then YHC continued with the ball theme and pulled out a softball where we played a few different games of ‘hot potato’ (borrowed the idea from TurboTax) every time a pax dropped the ball, we did some ‘punishment’ we’d weave and Bob, foreword and back, passing the ball, then switching up the order, all in all fun was had by all! A great game of dynamic catch.

Props to Lucky Dog who was able to catch and throw with his non-dominant (which is great physical therapy for him!).

We rounded out with naming Pauly D’s 2.0 he was a gamer, so we went with GTA or Grand Theft Arson, there was another name, but it was copyrighted!

Ended with a COT. YHC had to run for a Dr. Appointment, but several did go for Coffeteria at Starbucks.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to lead this morning. I look forward to seeing everyone in the gloom again!

  • God of Thunder, before the thunder – from Hogs Breath

YHC arrived at 5:21, nine whole minutes before the beatdown. Already three cars were waiting, including an FNG! After planting the flag, another car arrived with two FNGs. Ominous clouds appeared overhead, but the rain (and thunder) did hold off for our beatdown, instead we had muggy 71* weather.

    Disclaimer: given

The Warm Up: some sets of 10, IC windmills, IC imperial walkers, IC toy soldiers, IC copperhead squats, etc.

The Thang: After moseying to grab some coupons, and some mumble-chatter about the ‘largest rock’ we took a page from Chris Hemsworth during his preparation for the latest Thor movie.
    10 Curls for the girls
    10 OH presses
    10 Tricep extensions
    10 Squats
    10 IC weight twists
    10 bent over rows
    10 Chest presses

Followed by a lap around the circular sidewalk at your own pace. Than plank or Al Gore while waiting for the 6. Lather, rinse and repeat for 5 rounds.
After dropping off the coupons we had about 3 minutes of Mary.

    COT
We names FNGs; Bumper (names after an embarrassing high school accident), Howdy Doody (A displaced Texan who owns a doggy pooper scooper business), and Lucky Dog (a fresh-up-and-comer who survived a bad car crash).

Announcements of the Fury beatdown and some local beatdown locations.

  • I did some stuff – from Hogs Breath

YHC had a cup of coffee, and check the weather at the house. 27*
As yhc sipped delicious bean juice, the texts came rolling in “27* is too cold for me!” “Sorry I slept bad, gonna fly” and “I have the kids this am can’t make it”
So YHC showed up about 8 mins early….and no one else arrived!
So I got out, did some stuff, and then left!

    Better luck next Monday!!!

  • Chilly Deck o’ Death – from Hogs Breath

A chilly day after the Mardi Gras parades. While the skies were clear, the temps were low in the 40*s. As the street sweepers began, two pax’s began their beatdown.

The warmup was anything that got us moving. SSH, toy soldiers, butt kicks and high knees.

    The thing

Simply turned over a card from the Deck of Death and the second card was the ‘multiplier’.
After performing 48 IC Rosalitas, YHC decided to modify…. If the second card was less than 5, we’d multiply. If the second card was greater than 5 we’d add.

Some great mumble chatter was had by all!

    Ended with COT and Coffeteria
