  • It Was a Ducky Kind of Morning

After the disclaimer and a quick announcement about my tweaked knee, we took a short mosey disrupting the breakfast of about 500 whistling ducks and settled in for warm up in front the bandstand. The PAX did the following exercises:

    SSH -25

    Self Love – 10

    Arm Circles Forward – 10

Arm Circles Backwards (Seeman style cadence) – 10

    Imperial Walkers – 20

The PAX then moseyed to the track where we performed alternating Running Man sprints until we hit the pull up bars. At the pull up bars the PAX split into 5 groups and rotated through the following stations.  The pull up station had the count.

    Pull Ups – 12

    Burpees

    Plank Jacks

    Hillbillies

    Mercans

The PAX again gathered at the track where we again did alternating running man sprints to the fountain at the front of the park. Once there, we grabbed some bench and did the following exercises:

    LEft leg step ups- 20

    Derkins – 12

Right leg step ups – 20

    Irkins – 12

    Dips – 20

The PAX moseyed on there own to the bridge for a short lived MARY

    Ammerican Hamers – 20

    Penguins – 20

    Wife Pleasers – 20

We proceeded to mosey back to the flag for COT. We welcomed one FNG, Mr. Rogers,  into the fold.  For those counting RRR miles we finished at 2.68 miles.

  • I’m sorry @Reluctant Yankee, I suck at this.

Once again, I am posting a couple of weeks late.

Started off with a circle in the clubhouse parking lot.

    • SSH X 20
    • Forward Arm Circles X 20
    • Mountain Climbers X 20
    • A little plank yoga stretching

We headed to the track for some interval sprints. Jogged to the first running man and then sprinted to the next. Then jogged two running men and sprinted two, etc. Kept this up until we got to the pull-up bars.

Split into 4 groups and rotated through the following:

    • Pull-ups X 20 as the count
    • Carolina Dry Docks
    • Jump Lunges
    • Squats

Repeated the jog sprint interval pattern to the Mary area by the drinking fountain for the following:

    • Freddy Mercury X 20
    • Penguins X 20
    • LBC X 20
    • American Hammer X 20

One more set of jog sprint intervals to the fountain. Stopped there for some benches.

    • Dips X 15
    • Box jumps on the bench X 15
    • Dips X 15
    • Diamond Derkins X 15
    • Dips X 15

Indian run with two lines to the row bars. Did some group led Mary while we waited for the 6.

Moseyed to the flag for name-o-rama and SBOM.

  • TSUNAMI!

A strong wind blows, the rain and waves approach! 13 men of purpose and intent launched into the howling gloom and alas, F3 Tsunami had launched.

    Thang:

Mosey down the block and back to front of Tulane for warm-up:

    • SSH x15
    • Imperial Walkers x10
    • Mountain Climbers x15
    • Merkins x10

Up Law Rd, right into Johnston Quad

    Four corners circuit work x3:

    • Merkins x10
    • Dips x10
    • Knee ups x10
    • Squats x10
    • 2 more laps around, adding 5 reps to each time (x15,  x20)
    • Mary while we wait for the 6

The wind and rain are picking up now…the angry, dark sea approaches.

Back to Law Rd, and continuing up to Freret then deeper into campus to Newcomb/LBC Quad

    • Line up for 20 LBCs > Backwards to wall and mosey back, 40 LBCs
    • Side step to wall and mosey back, 40 LBCs
    • Sprint to wall and mosey back, 20 LBCs

Ahoy now, see how the sea she churns and the waves doth rise…the dreaded Tsunami is nigh.

Back to Freret then over to West Rd, to the familiar sight of Wolfpack Mountain. Up the stairs to the roof.

Now above the turbulent seas that froth below, but 7 stories up the wind howls and the rain cuts like needles into our dampened microfiber, wicking performance apparel.

Better circle up for 10 diamonds.

The tsunami is really rolling in at this point.  Starfish and creatures of the deep strewn here and there, covering the manicured campus below.

Down the ramp to find some cover. Circle up for merkins IC x10, flutters x20, widearms x10, Dolly x15, Merkins x10

Back down the stairs and out into the storm…Mosey back to the flag…but wait, what’s this?? 4 minutes to spare?

    • At the Gumbel Fountain:
    • Right leg step ups x20
    • Dips x15
    • Left leg step ups x20
    • Derkins x10

6:15…the tsunami hits the pax and we’re all dead.

    COT

Strong group today for the first Tsunami, including two visiting pax from Nashville and Tallahassee.  It’s truly awesome to see the growth and health of F3 NOLA, and fun to be able to launch a new workout to provide the nation with another alternative in our busy schedules.  There are so many un-explored areas in this AO, and today was just a taste.

Hawgcycle has the Tsunami Q next week, so come on out and see what’s in store. (Btw, his baby soft feet loved the Tulane quad…maybe enough to make him a regular!)

    Until next time, your friend,

    Mariah xo

  • RevSox’s Birthday Party

The news spread slowly at first but soon gained speed and momentum. The beatdown on January 28th was sure to be epic, inspiring, and convoluted with poor instructions. YHC’s birthday Q was coming and the Pax was coming out in numbers to celebrate. F3 Nation arrived in record numbers with men from Kenner, River Ridge, Metairie, Uptown, and Tallahassee to celebrate the birthday of own of their own.

YHC began the workout with a welcome to his birthday party, the standard disclaimer, and a mosey over to the open grass next to rock pile.

    Warm-Up

Since YHC was born 36 years ago, YHC gave us a brief trip back to 1983, a year of Pop Culture glory.

    SSH – 36

Imperial Walkers – 20 in honor of the release of the Return of the Jedi

Peter Parkers – 20 in honor of the comic debut of Spider-Ham

Parker Peters – 20 because Spider-Ham hasn’t receive enough love over the last 36 years

    Playing at the Park

The Pax was invited to go pick up one party favor (a rock) for each guest and head over to the playground for some play. Each Pax member paired up with their best friend as we tackled an exercise rotation that took far too long to explain because YHC did not anticipate numbers swelling above 20. The Pax was stationed by pairs around the playground to workout at their spot while one pair knocked out 10 pull-ups as the timer. The Pax would rotate to the next spot after each set of 10 pull-ups were completed.

The exercise stations: Pull-ups, Partner Shrugs #1, Partner Shrugs #2, Partner Curls #1, Partner Curls #2, Underdogs, Triceps Ext, Thrusters, Bicycles, Flutterkicks, Burpees, and 8 count body builders.

Once every pair had hit every station, the Pax grabbed their rocks and headed over to the football field.

    The Suicide

YHC wanted to relive his old soccer practices from high school, so this required suicides, Rock City style.

The pax lined up at the end line with their rocks and ran it to 1/4 length of the field, stopped for 15 shoulder presses, and dropped the rock. Then the pax ran back to the end line and returned to grab the rock and take it mid-field for 15 curls and dropped the rock. Then the pax ran back to the end line and returned to grab the rock and take it to 3/4 length of the field, stopped for 15 low slow squats, and dropped the rock. Finally the pax ran back to the end line and returned to grab the rock and take it to the end of the field for 15 bench presses, and ran the rock back to the starting point.

    Ultimate Frisbee

Since this was YHC’s birthday, he wanted to celebrate with some fun. There is no better F3 fun than Ultimate Frisbee with some merkins thrown in. The Pax split into two teams (shirts vs. skins). The game was standard Ultimate Frisbee rules with the addition of 5 merkins every time there was a turnover and 10 merkins for every score.

YHC’s team (the shirts) won a close, hard-fought battle with Scantron coming in big with two scores in a 3-2 victory!

    The Close

The Pax took their rocks back to the pile and moseyed to the flag. TClaps to Left Eye for pushing it to the end so he could get a little extra plank in before the six arrived. This is what F3 is all about, pushing each other each morning in the gloom, so we can be stronger and faster this week than the week before.

Counted off for a Pax of 24 to set a new Rock City attendance record.

Name-o-rama, announcements, intentions (keep praying for the Ranger in need, Cheese Fries’ family with the passing of his friend, and the growth of our men), and we came in close for the sweaty ball of man.

Thank you for the opportunity to lead and the birthday wishes, thanks to you all 36 will be better than 35,

    RevSox

  • King Kong – 1 Year Anniversary – Thank You PAX!!!

King Kong – 1 Year Anniversary – Thank You PAX!!!

    Pre-Thang

31 PAX managed to meet up on a beautiful, calm, cold Friday morning for the WPM.  At 5:30, YHC gave his disclaimer. This is YHC’s 1 year anniversary with F3 Nola!!! YHC gave thanks to all the PAX for motivating and pushing him at 5:30 a.m. on a regular basis. YHC told the PAX to modify as needed, whether increasing or decreasing the reps. The key is to maximize your own workout and no one is here to judge.

    Warm-ups

Short mosey to Loyola campus and to do the following in cadence:

    SSHs x 20

    Windmills x 20

    Imperial Walkers x 20

    Seal Jacks x 20

    The Thang

Moseyed to the base of the WPM.

1.) Ran up the first ramp and did slow merkins IC x 10, focusing on form rather than speed.

2.) Ran up backwards the second ramp, and YHC called out Bartman to show everyone how a low slow squat is done because YHC noticed Bartman always has perfect form with his squats. Also – YHC gave a shout out to Bartman because YHC’s first F3 beatdown a year ago was Q’ed by him. YHC still remembers his very first Dora 1, 2, 3. Thank You Bartman, who led low slow squat X 10 IC.

3.) Side hopped on the flat level from one end to the other and switched direction in the middle. YHC called out Reluctant Yankee to do his favorite exercise, low country crab X 20 IC. YHC remembers during his very first WPM – Yankee was sweeping the Six, which was YHC. YHC never forgets the importance of sweeping the Six. Thank You Yankee.

4.) Ran up the ramp, and YHC called out Fracsac. YHC’s very first mothership was Q’ed by Fracsac. After the beatdown, YHC remembers this guy loves suicides and Cat. Wine Mixer. Why not….. YHC asked Fracsac to demonstrate the mixer with a 6 count. He led Cat. Wine Mixer X 10 IC.

5.) Karaoke on the flat level from one end to the other and switched direction in the middle. YHC called out Douille for his “Classic Douille”, American Hammer X 20 IC.

6.) Bear crawled up the ramp. Instead of crawling all the way up on this ramp, YHC broke up the crawl by yelling “HALT.” Stayed where everyone was and did 15 incline plank jacks IC. Bear crawled again and “HALT” again and did 15 incline mountain climbers IC. Then finished crawling to the top.

7.) Prisoner ran on the flat level from one end to the other to get to the next ramp. YHC heard few mumble chatter here when YHC announced “burpee broad jumps on the ramp.” YHC broke up this workout by yelling “HALT.” Stayed where everyone was and did 15 incline Peter Parkers IC. Burpee broad jumping again until the next “HALT” and did 15 Imperial Walkers IC. Then finished the burpee broad jumps to the top.

8.) Ran on the flat level from one end to the other to get to the next ramp. The group did lunge walks to the top of the ramp. Once again, YHC broke up the lunge walk in the middle with a “HALT.” Thanks to Gabrielle, the group did 20 decline (rather than incline) Parker Peter IC. Then finished the lunge walk all the way to the top of the mountain.

9.) At the top of the WPM, YHC decided to do some suicides. Ran down the ramp to the third light post and back to the top of the WPM and did 20 leg raises. Ran down the ramp to the second post and back to the top and did 15 leg raises. Finally, ran down the ramp to the closest light post and back to do 10 leg raises.

Ran down the stairs back to Loyola campus where the group started the workout with our warm-ups earlier.

    Round of Mary

YHC dedicated this round of Mary to all the HNJ dads, who invited YHC to F3. Without them, YHC would have no idea F3 NOLA is here. YHC called out the following HNJ PAX to lead the following exercise in cadence.

    Willie – Very slow Penguins x 15

    Medulla – Dying Cockroach x 15

Gabrielle – Nolan Ryan x 10 on each side

YHC wanted to continue to call out the rest of the HNJ PAX but ran out of time. Moseyed back to the flag for the COT right at 6:15 a.m.

    COT

Count-O-Rama 30PAX, Name-O-Rama, announcements, intentions. We will start a new Uptown workout on Tuesday. We will meet at the same spot as WPM, top of Audubon Park on St. Charles Ave. Our thoughts and prayers for Piranha’s family as they are expecting their newborn on Monday. Also prayers for De La Salle’s President. I am blessed and thankful to be able to workout with my F3 brothers on a regular basis and hope to do so for many years to come. Thank You all again for the opportunity to lead. Always a pleasure and honor to workout with the PAX. SYITG

  • What we learned from BlackHawk Down…

A beautiful, crisp Saturday morning for the Mothership, with a quick disclaimer we ….circled up.

For the last couple of weeks, YHC has been thinking about events that have occurred in our F3 family. These include Terrabyte’s passing, illness with our F3 brother’s loved ones and the impending closure of Morning Call and loss of employment, at least temporarily, for our faithful waiter, Mike. As YHC was preparing for his Q at the Mothership during the week, YHC noticed an old favorite movie had been added to Netflix, Black Hawk Down. This film is about the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia in the early nineties which resulted in the death of 19 American Soldiers, YHC noted some explicit themes in the movie such as “No Man Left Behind” and “We fight for the man next to you”. There was also some implicit themes including no man is on his own. Clearly, all of these themes are echoed in the F3 credo “Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him”. So in honor of the 19 American Soldiers who died in Mogadishu and all of our F3 Brothers going through tough and uncertain times, this Mothership beatdown will have no OYO exercises. One other note on Blackhawk Down, in the movie there was multiple references to “chalks”. After some quick research with the source of all sources, Wikipedia, a “chalk” in military terminology is a group of troops (think platoon) in an airborne assault. PAX, count off 1, 2, 3, 4 and form up into Chalks 1, 2, 3 and 4. This will be your group throughout the workout. Each Chalk designate a Chalk Q and grab a Flag.

Mosey to Great Lawn for Warm Up

Form rows of by chalk starting with Chalk 1 then Chalk 2 followed by Chalk 3 and 4.  Chalks try to stay in formation  Let’s begin:

All exercises until Q yells Halt

    • Walking Soldiers
    • High Knees
    • Butt Kicks
    • Carioca

    Circle up for additional warm-up:

    • Self Love I/C X20
    • Imperial Walkers I/C X20
    • Hillbillies I/C X20

Form your Chalks into circles on the Great Lawn for the next thang… Bear Crawl Ring of Fire:

    • Bearcrawl Counter-Clockwise till Q yells halt
      • 10 merkins in ring of fire fashion starting with the PAX to the left of the Chalk Q
    • Bearcrawl Clockwise
      • 10 wide merks Bearcrawl Counter-Clockwise till Q yells halt

    Let’s increase the difficulty!

    • Boo Boo Bearcrawl Counterclockwise Right Leg Up
      • 10 staggered right merkins in ring of fire fashion starting with the PAX to the left of the Chalk Q
    • Boo Boo Bearcrawl Clockwise Left Leg Up
      • 10 staggered left merkins in ring of fire fashion starting with the PAX to the left of the Chalk Q

Chalks grab flag, form columns and march to road in front of Storyland.  Line up chalks in four columns facing towards museum for Indian Runs to Fountain.

At Fountain circle up staying with your Chalk for Red Hot Chili Pepper:

    • Right Leg Step Ups x 16; Decline Merkins x 8; Left Leg Step Ups x 16; Incline Merkins x 8
    • Right Leg Step Ups x 12; Decline Merkins x 6; Left Leg Step Ups x 12; Incline Merkins x 6
    • Right Leg Step Ups x 8; Decline Merkins x 4; Left Leg Step Ups x 8; Incline Merkins x 4
    • Right Leg Step Ups x 4; Decline Merkins x 2; Left Leg Step Ups x 4; Incline Merkins x2

Next, down Lelong Drive for more Indian Runs in Chalks.  T-claps to Chalk 3 for hanging back to keep their chalk together.  Now you’re getting the idea!

Mosey in Chalk to side of NOMA and partner up in Chalk for O.P.P.

One PAX does OH Claps (O) in People’s Chair (P) while the other PAX does 20 Plank Jacks (P) Flapjack till Q yells halt.  These were done in 2 count cadence.  Let’s try to stay together on cadence Chalks!

Time is running out so grab Flags and mosey in Chalk columns to great lawn for:

    Quick Mary:

    • Flutter Kicks I/C X20
    • Hello Dolly I/C X20

Times up so circle around Flags in Great Lawn for CoT

Count-Off, Name-o-rama (1 FNG who was named Twin Span as he’s from Slidell), Intentions and Prayer.

T-claps to all the PAX who did the daily double, the Mothership and Krazy Ivan.  Southshore brought the Freedom Hammer home!

Thank you PAX for embracing the Beatdown’s theme of no man is “on his own” in F3.  As we all go through life’s ups and downs, it feels good to know that we have our F3’ brothers to watch our six.  We are truly our Brother’s Keeper!

    NM Moleskin

For 4 years, the PAX have been enjoying F2 and F3 at the Morning Call in City Park after the Mothership.  For most if not all of those coffeetaria’s, we have arrived to ice cold water to refresh us and been served “Hot” au laits, “Cold” iced coffees and for a brave few “Hot Black” coffees by our faithful waiter Mike.  We all know that this past weekend was the last for Morning Call and there is some uncertainty whether Mike will come back with Café du Monde.  Even if he does, he will be out of work for at least a month.  So in true F3 fashion, an operation was drummed up.  In a short week, what became known as Operation Big Tip was put into full effect to thank Mike for all of his service to the PAX.  The PAX raised $349 for Mike and a Framed Picture signed by the PAX was delivered at Coffeetaria.  YHC even noticed a tear in Mike’s eye.   The PAX should be proud of their efforts.  This is the best of F3.

  • The Day After…

After a quick disclaimer at the flag, the pax moved to flat ground in close proximity to the rock pile for the following warm up exercises:

    SSH – 20, Self Love – 10, Arm Circles (Forward) – 10 (backwards)- 10, Windmills – 15, Imperial Walkers – 20

After the Pax chose their rock, we moseyed to the football field, circled up and performed the following excercises, rinsed and repeated with a lap around the track after each set.

    Thrusters – 20, Curls – 20, Triceps – 15

The pax then slow moseyed to the goal line on our side of the football field, and partnered up for the following:

Partner 1 sprinted approximately 50 yards and back while partner 2 did the following excerises with their rock. The partners switched after each exercise until completed.

Squat Thursters, Curls, Triceps, Low Slow Squats

We rinsed and repeated with the following exercises:

    Goblet Squats, LBCs, Curls, Triceps

Once completed, the PAX circled up for some MARY to close the workout. Exercises completed were as follows:

    Penguins – 20, Flutter Kicks – 20, Freedom Hammers – 20, Dying Cockroach – 20,

We proceeded to return our rocks, and circle up at the flag for count off, nameorama, announcements, and closing prayer.

  • #42

Jackie Robinson once said, “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives”. Today, 42 men showed up in the soggy gloom to face the Mountain. Today, we caught a glimpse of the incredible impact F3 has had on a growing number of lives as we set yet another AO record for attendance.

“Life is not a spectator sport. If you’re going to spend your whole life in the grandstand just watching what goes on, in my opinion you’re wasting your life.”

No spectators here – we jumped right into the thing after the disclaimer and an awe-inspiring cartwheel demonstration by Crop Duster.

    • Brief mosey to Tulane’s front yard for an oval warmup
      • Side Straddle Hop x 25
      • Imperial Walker Squats x 20
      • Arm Circles Forward/Back x 15
    • Mosey to top of the Mountain via the stairs
      • 11’s comprised of Leg Raises and Burpees
      • LBC’s OYO to wait for the 6
      • Merkins x 10
    • Mosey down the Mountain to Touchdown Jesus via stairs
      • Pax formed groups of 3
      • Pax 1 executed Squats AMRAP style at one end while Pax 2 held a Plank at the opposite end of the lawn. Pax 3 ran to tap out Pax 2 and take his spot so that he could then take Pax 1’s position doing Squats. Continued this rotation allowing each Pax to complete Squats, then Jumping Lunges, followed by Monkey Humpers. This is tough to explain in writing, but much tapping occurred and all were jolly.
      • DIZZY BEAR! – Traditional Bear Crawl that leads into a Reverse Bear Crawl upon Q yelling, “DIZZY BEAR!”
      • Merkins x 10
      • Dying Cockroach x 20

“This ain’t fun. But you watch me, I’ll get it done.”

It sure ain’t always fun, but it’s worth it.

I’ll leave y’all with one last Jackie Robinson quote as I think it ties even more directly into what we’re doing than the previous ones, “F3 is great.”

Lobsta (FNG), Grimace (FNG), Pops (F3 Cleveland), Monty (F3 Cleveland), Sesame Street (F3 Naperville), Crop Duster (F3 Naperville and visiting cartwheel extraordinaire), Gabrielle, Willie, King Kong, Medulla, Peppa, Douille, Saban, Sandbar, Brown Bag, Chiquita, Two Yutes, Fracsac, Bad Moon, Chowda, Jingle Vader, G-Spot, Bartman, Piranha, Landing Strip, Mariah, Reluctant Yankee, Flaming Lips, Giligan, Wash n’ Fold, Cavalier, Bones, Quincy, False Start, Cowbell, Angie’s List, Quarter Pipe, Tinkles, 86, Nine Lives

  • Tribute to Terabyte at the Mothership

F3 lost one of its own earlier in the week. Terabyte was a caring leader that pushed himself, and inspired other pax to become better. He will be missed.

YHC stated that we will carry a flag for our fallen pax as we trudged through the AO. We will sweat, push ourselves, and feel pain. In this way, we will honor him, ’cause that’s what we do. 40 men, including 3 FNG’s, were ready to go.

Brief disclaimer, then pick up the flag and mosey to the Great lawn for the warmup

SSH IC x 52 (Terabyte was only 52)
    IW IC x 15
    Grass Grabbers IC x 10
    Abe Vigodas IC x 10
    Arm Circles IC x 10 Fwd x 10 Bwd
    Peter Parker IC x 20
    Shoulder Taps IC x 20
    Parker Peter IC x 20
    Mountain Climber IC x 20
Recover, pick up the flag, and mosey….

Stop just short of the Bridge at Lagoon Number 11 on our way toward City park Avenue
    10 Burpees OYO
Mosey across the bridge and find an open space near City park Avenue
    Monkey Humpers IC x 20
    10 Burpees OYO
Mosey along to the next open green space

    10 Burpees OYO

    Dying Cockroach IC x 20
10 Burpees OYO (there was much mumblechatter by this time)
Mosey to the Tree line near NOMA
YHC asked how may burpees left? We have smart Pax! 12 it is!
12 Burpees OYO which brings us to 52. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have more Burpees!

Mosey to the Fountain at NOMA
    Dips IC x 20
RL Step Up IC x 15
    Incline Merkin IC x 10
LL Step Up IC x 15

    Dips IC x 10
RL Step Up IC x 15
    Decline Merkin IC x 10
LL Step Up IC x 10

    Mosey to the tree line
Sprint to first tree and back – 5 burpees
Sprint to second tree and back – 5 burpees – plank and wait for the six

Starting at first tree, Burpee Broad Jump to third tree.

YHC requested Triple Shift to help explain the next exercise. Triple Shift had previously introduced the Genuflect and YHC wanted to incorporate it in. Genuflect from third tree back to first tree.
Left knee down, right knee down, left knee up, right knee up, then lunge walk one step. Now do two genuflects followed by two lunge steps, then three……etc.

Mosey back to the Great Lawn for Mary:
    LBC’s IC x 30
    Tin Snips IC x 20
    Hello Dolly IC x 20
    Flutter Kicks IC x 20
    American Hammer IC x 10

    Plank for one minute
Recover, pick up the flag, and return to the other flags for the COT

Count off, Name-O-Rama, Announcement, and ended with a prayer.

Welcome Bingo Knight, Offsides, and CareBear! Great job on the EH’ing guys! We have had big numbers at the AO’s lately, let’s keep it going!

The Celebration of Life for Terabyte, aka Sidney Modica, will be held on Monday January 14th where visitation begins at 0900 with service to follow at 1030 at:
    Victory Fellowship
    5708 Airline Hwy
    Metairie, LA 70003

If you have a flag or a ruck sack, please bring. Terabyte loved being part of F3, and we loved having him.

  • Burpee Jacks at the Birdcage

    Pre-Thang

27 PAX with 1 FNG managed to meet up on a windy, cool Wednesday morning. This is YHC’s first Q in 2019. Happy New Year!!! At 5:30, YHC gave his standard disclaimer and off went the PAX.

    Warm-ups

Short mosey to the Fountain of Youth and did the following in cadence:

    SSHs x 20

    Windmills x10

    Overhead Claps x 10

    Seal Claps x 10

    Slow Low Squats x 10

Picked a partner. Each team grabbed one coupon and jogged to the field in front of Audubon Zoo while holding the coupon overhead. Handed off the coupon to the partner if necessary so that he could do the same thing.

    Partner Workout

Magically again, bunch of cones (dividing the field in halves) were set up in the middle of the field.

Part 1 – Starting in the middle of the field, each PAX ran toward his baseline marked with cones (about 10 – 15 yards) and performed 2 burpee jacks (which is a burpee followed by a SSH) and ran back to the middle and performed 15 patty cake merkins with his partner, rinse and repeat with 10 reps, rinse and repeat with 5 reps.

Part 2 – Starting in the middle of the field, each PAX ran toward his baseline with 2 burpee jacks and back to the middle and performed 15 synchronize big boy sit ups. Rinse and repeat with 10 and 5 reps.

Part 3 – Starting in the middle of the field, each PAX started off by running toward his baseline with 2 burpee jacks and back to the middle and performed 80 Thrusters as a team. While one PAX was thrustering (made up verb), the other PAX was in Al Gore squat position. Every time a PAX had to hand off the coupon to the other PAX and flap jack the exercise, each had to run to his baseline and performed 2 burpee jacks and ran back to the middle before the other PAX could do the thrusters. Rinse and repeat until 80 thrusters were completed by the team.

Part 4 – Starting in the middle of the field, each PAX started off by running toward his baseline with 2 burpee jacks and back to the middle and each team performed 200 Curls for the ladies (not girls). One PAX was doing the curls while the other one was in the reverse plank position. Every time a PAX had to hand off the coupon to the other PAX and flap jack the exercise, each had to run to his baseline and performed 2 burpee jacks and ran back to the middle before the other PAX could do the curls. Rinse and repeat until 200 curls were done by the team.

Part 5 – Same layout as Part 3 and 4 except the team had to complete 40 manmakers (burpees with lifting the block overhead at the end) While one PAX was manmaking (loving these made up verbs), the other PAX was in low plank position.

When finished, moseyed back with coupon overhead to the Fountain of Youth. Placed the coupons back to their beloved home behind the fountain.

Count-O-Rama 27PAX, Name-O-Rama, announcements, intentions. 1 FNG (Smalls). Smalls is a reference from an early 90’s movie Sandlot, which is about a group of young kids playing baseball. FNG’s real name is Ryan Mattingly. More importantly, he’s opposite of being small. “You are killing me Smalls!” I assume that’s similar to how Shorty got his F3 name. Our thoughts and prayers for one of King Kong’s 2.0’s upcoming allergy test-hoping for great results without any major reaction. We pray for a Saints victory over the Eagles on Playoffs Sunday.

Our thoughts and prayers for Mathlete and his family. RIP Terabyte. Really a sad day to hear of an F3 brother passing away this morning. Mathlete – We pray for mental and physical strength to you, your family, and friends. No one can ever prepare you for losing a family member. Only family and close friends and time can slowly heal the wounds. The response and prayers in Mumblechatter sum up why I’m glad to be part of F3. When we see one of our brothers in a bad place, we offer our help, if we can. Thank You all again for the opportunity to lead. Always a pleasure and honor to workout with the PAX. SYITG
