Beautiful morning, at the A1C ~ probably nearing last of the pleasant days
before the heat and humidity really kicks in.

shoulder rolls, book covers, popeyes, side to side lunges, etc.

THANG: Deck of Doom – with one rule; everyone has to get up off their six
between card draws – hence the 52 get-ups.

Diamonds – run up card value of stripes, back peddle return.
    Clubs – merkins
    Spades – scorpian kicks 2-is-1
    Hearts – iron crosses

Mary: a set of Fletch Stretch hip openers wrapped up the workout

T-Claps to Moby (74.99452054794520547945205479452055 y.o.) for doing a good job on the running.

Barely Legal prayed us out with intentions for his Mom and for Fletch’s Mom

  • Jose10K’s Sweat-Fest Recap: Moby is a lean, mean, fighting machine – from Jose10k

So there we were—5 a.m., still basically night, but nature decided to bless us with 78 degrees of muggy disrespect, lightly garnished with a breeze that said, “This is the best you’re getting, deal with it.”

Darkwing and Fletch rolled in, and with them, a historic moment: the legendary Run Cajun Run shirt was finally returned to its rightful owner—cue the slow clap. And of course, Old Faithful Moby showed up, reliable as that one knee that pops every time you stand up.

We kicked it off with 5 minutes of warm-ups—code for “let’s convince our joints not to mutiny.” After a good stretch that felt like we were all auditioning for a Richard Simmons “Sweating to the Oldies” yoga DVD, we made our way to the courthouse for a classic round of 11s.

    Here’s the deal:
    • Merkins at the bottom
    • Run up the courthouse steps like Rocky Balboa
    • Hit the Copperhead Squats at the top—slow, painful
    • Then a leisurely jog all the way back down and around the courthouse, which somehow gets bigger every round.

Repeat. For 45 glorious minutes. A symphony of sweat, pain, and the occasional existential crisis.

The mumble chatter was strong—somewhere between therapy session and roast battle. Next Friday, Moby turns 75, which means his cue is legally required to contain both wisdom and at least one threat of injury. Tomorrow is Marsh Madness, where a new champion will be crowned. And don’t forget May 10th—Barely Legal is throwing down with the second annual F2 Extravaganza.
Jose10K out. May your soreness be short and your coffee strong.

  • F3 A to Z – from Bushwacker

It’s a rare thing that seems to happen just a hand full of times a year, and when it happens it makes me envy my future self. That thing is the opportunity to visit F3 Northshore’s own Retirement Village in downtown Covington, also known as the Gipper.
So YHC figured he ought to throw down an equally, if not more, rare beatdown to the the PAX that make a 44 and 46 year old, respectively, the “kiddos” of the AO…

    WARMORAMA

In the interest of time Q kept it short and sweet and covered all the basics:
    All IC x10:
    Torso Twists
    Self Love
    Hi Knees
    Butt Kicks

    THANG

The rep counts varied, as did IC vs OYO, but here’s a complete list of the exercises grumblingly (new and appropriate adverb) completed by the assemblage of PAX with the combined “experience” of more than 340 years:

    Absolution
    Big Boy Sit Ups
    Cut-a-Flip
    Dying Cockroach
    E2K
    Freddy Mercurys
    Guantanamo
    Hundreds
    Indian Crab Walk(missed you Legal!)
    Jackees
    Killer B’s
    LLCoolJs
    Monkey Humpers
    Never Cross Dolly
    Obamas (Tanks’s favorite!)
    People’s Air Press
    Quixote (new exercise)
    Rochamburpees
    SSH
    T Merkins
    Upstraddle Hop
    Van Godas
    Werkins
    XYs
    Yurpees
    Zombie Crunches

And so you see, from A to Z the PAX put in the work. Though grumbles did bely the fact that some of them did hurt. But certainly you’ve heard it said “no pain, no gain”, it’s true. So post tomorrow, if you dare, cause Wacker’s got that Q too!

    SYITG

  • Core and more Core – from Mobydick

A beautiful morning and the over 60/70 crew were the only ones out to enjoy it. An extended stretch regime and then the thang. Core and more core. More time in tension than rep count. 2 min crunches. 2 min planks leg lifts etc etc. Close with COT

  • Cold Deck at The A1C – from Einstein

Cold this morning on the deck of the parking garage at the A1C ~ 28 degrees.

WARMUP: all IC15x; toe touch, windmills, side staddle hops, arm circles, neck rolls(snap, crackle, pops),
shoulder rolls, butt kicks, high knees, book covers, single leg hip circles, etc.

THANG: PAX of 4 – perfect for the deck-of-doom, each pax assigned a suit, performing reps as per the card value

Jose10K – clubs; plenty of merkins
Moby – hearts; mix of stretching
Fletch – diamonds; plenty of freak nasties
    Einstein – spades; simple mix

2 Jokers run a lap, and one minute of Rocky Balboas

Plenty of mumble chatter, resulting in overtime to finish the deck.
Froze fingers could not flip the cards easily, resulting in double overtime.

    Fletch prayed us out.

  • Tabata 45/30 – from Mobydick

Overcast. And gloomy so under the canopy. Started with a stretchy torso twist toe touches side straddle hop and such the the thang. Very basic. Frogs. Squats Crunches Side straddle hop Merkins Toe touches and a lap which was lunges forward and back. Each for :45 with :30 rest. Not a killer routine but when done slowly and deep with form worked up a sweat. YHC is a bit sore as a result. That a good thing. COT and done

  • Guess who’s back, back again…… – from Jose10k

Michael Jordan returned to the Bulls in 1995, Luke Skywalker returned as a Jedi, and dare I say it: The return of the Mack! All of these returns pale in comparison to the return of Darkwing Duck. He finally came back to the A1C. Trumpets blared loudly, confetti fell from the sky, a tear ran down Moby’s face. It was emotional.
The Thang: 10 merkins, 15 squats, 20 penguins 2 is 1. A ¼ mile run after each. RCR is in full swing. There were ruckers, runners, and conversationalists. COT. Thanks for letting me lead.

  • Time in Tension – from Mobydick

I have been introduced to the concept of time in tension over reps. Lots of workout stress number of reps done real fast so we can brag about how many we do. When we do them real fast form goes out the window along with full extension, control and benefits of gravity resistance. After an extended stretching series the pax was challenge to a series of the usual merkins squats lunges sit-ups leg lifts plank etc only this time to a s l o w count if 6 down and a s l o w 6 count up. There were only 5 reps of each exercise but it took a minute or more to do each one. The 5th rep of a merkin or a plank done this way started to feel really long. End result more muscles got used. Control and form just happened and a pumped up feeling afterwards assured a real workout just happened in 30 minutes of tension time.
