  • A New Old Route – from Kuch

YHC took the Stomp yesterday for an injured Snooze, who fell victim to the streets of New Orleans during a Rudy Q the week before. Some may blame the street; I choose to blame Rudy.

YHC promised “something cool” in the LVCC groupme, and then was immediately forced to actually think of something cool. Cart, horse… as long as they all get there.

The “something cool” ended up being running the old route down Marconi toward the Lake, but on the newly completed running path. The running path is great, and the faster guys should be able to make it all the way to Lakeshore Drive and back along its protected boundaries. This beats the hell out of running down Marconi in the dark, under the tree cover, with little shoulder and cars going 40.

As the Site Q for the Stomp, YHC would make this the official new route, but I’m sure that would have the opposite effect, as a cascade of Q’s show up just to let me know that I am definitely not the boss of them (or anyone else for that matter). So for now, let’s just say it’s one of the available options.

We went 20 out, 20 back, and a few minutes of stretching. We were joined by Pop Tart’s pup, who has since unofficially been named Pup Tart. Credit to Saban on that one.

Pothole joined us as well, although he still needs to register on the site. T-claps to him regardless: he started 2 weeks ago and has hardly missed a workout. Pretty impressive.

We gave thanks and remembered those who are struggling. As always, this group is one of the many things YHC is truly thankful to have found.

  • Ruck’n to the Kenna Line Brah – from Vagabond

After doing warm-up exercises and 60 EMOM burpees at the start (in the 38 degree wind, some modified), …to mix it up from the typical View beat downs, the four pax rucked 1-2 miles with 25lbs +/-. Stopped along the way for dips, decline shoulder taps, step ups, etc.

Circled up for COT and prayer. Rucking is great for the “third F”- Fellowship.

  • Holding Down the Fort – from Vagabond

The “frequent flier” Renaissance pax were at Jackson Day Race so we had two newcomers for the windy beatdown in the 40 degree chill. After doing some stretches, moseyed around NOMA then down the park entrance doing 10 warmup exercises along the way, about every 20 yards.

    THANG:
20 reps of two exercises at each end of field, declining by 2 reps at each interval until reaching 2:
    – squat jumps touching ground with both hands, then jump raising both hands above head on the jump
    – big boi sit-ups at other end of field
    – Going to/fro each end of field, crawl through the “bear crawl” zone each way + 3 burpees in middle going both ways

Onward to close with 3 reps of Sunday Mornings behind NOMA

    Circle up for COT, prayer

    That’s 120 for the day!

Return to the flag and rejoin the Wally Runners that ran 4 plus miles each

COT – raised up several intentions including our brother Kimchi for the heartbreaking loss of his son Xavier.

    NMM

    • The Weagle is a much welcomed venue for those of us forced to limit our running

    • The field was extremely muddy from the recent rain. YHC didn’t want to destroy it, but placed 2 cones there to see what sort of psychological effect it would have….it worked. It did not go unnoticed!

    SYITG

  • I made it up as I went along

I made it up as I went along

COT, – Count off, nam-o-rama, annoucements, intentions , prayer

  • Running with the HIM or Burping with the Weagle

Running with the HIM or Burping with the Weagle

10 men arrived to continue their lifelong journey to impact their families and community for the better with a strength building workout at the Wally Run/Weagle. Six high impact men took off for the traditional Wally Run. Four men remained for the low impact Weagle. YHC ran, so he was unaware of what the low impact man did for 45 minutes, but all the talk with the inclusion of 120 burpees thanks to the leadership Frac Sac.

Th Pax closed with the count-off, name-o-rama, and prayers lifted up especially for Kimchi as we pray for the peace and grace of God to comfort his family during this time of loss.
