  • Therapy – from Jose10k

Deja vu? I started the morning like last week: alone. I felt like Russo, all alone. This worked out for me . I needed the time to clear my head, find some inner peace, found a pace I haven’t had in about 3 years. Maybe the 10k doesn’t have any more runners I thought…Until I turned the corner at mile 4.25 and ran across Legal and Tarheel. So there are still runners at the 10k!!!

  • Friday the 13th: Not so scary – from Russo

YHC is a huge horror movie fan. Although each persons definition of what defines horror is different, for me, it probably includes excessive heat, running, burpees, and pull-ups. It definitely includes the smell of month-old Jose sweat in a jar splashing Zoolander.

Fortunately none of those things were present this morning. Generally cooler 67 degrees, the “running” looked more like a slow mosey to continue the mumblechatter, and I wouldn’t plan a beatdown with pull-ups if my life depended on it. I like my left shoulder too much to have it scream in pain for a week. As a result, Friday the 13th was not so scary and we made it to the end alive.

    Warmup – all IC, 10x
    – SSHs
    – Cherry pickers
    – Toe touches
    – Arm circles
    – Imperial walkers

    Thang

Mosey to the bridge off Jackson Ave., stopping every block or so for 10 merkins, 20 SMCs, and finally 30 plankjacks.

Once we reached the bridge, it was cross the bridge in varying fashion doing 7s, donkey kicks and kid n plays.

    Crossing the bridge, we did:
    – Mosey (2x)
    – Lunges
    – Side shuffles
    – Carioca
    – Backpedal

Mosey back to start, where it was a short Mary of 20 IC crunches and crunchy frogs, just in time for The COT, Name-o-Rama, and prayer to close us out.

Excellent conversation today as always. Thanks for reading.

  • Friday The 13TH – from Einstein

13 was the magic number today with no Triskaidekaphobia, but plenty of pain.

Starting with 13 of each of those, then run loop around the upper deck of the parking garage. Then 12 of each, then 11 of each, ….then 1 of each.
Totaling 91 burpees, 91 Hindu pushups, 91 squats, ~1.3 miles of running

  • BLIMPS in Covington – from Fletch

Warmup: 15 IC, Self Love, Grass Grabber’s , Merkins, Arm Circles (forward and back), Windmills, Plank Jacks, High Jack High Jill, Imperial Walkers, Shoulder Tap Merkins.
Thang: 5 Burpees, 10 Lunges, 15 Imperial Walkers, 20 Merkins, 25 Plank Jacks, 30 Squats. Mosey to the caboose and do Burpee’s. Mosey to the next corner and do Burpee’s and Lunges. Mosey to the Taj Mahal and do Burpee’s, Lunges and Imperial Walkers. Around this time Mobydick went lame on us and couldn’t complete the run portion so we did side shuffles and back pedals between sets, in the parking lot, to complete the BLIMPS. We then made our way to the rock pile for 3 sets of bent over rows, curls, presses, tricep extensions and round the world ( rotate weight around cranium) both directions, all without putting the weight down. Moseyed back to the Gipper and a set of LBC’s and Flutter Kicks. Fletch prayed us out. Thanks for the Q. See you in the gloom.

  • Polar Agility – from Murdock

Ladder drills are difficult…even more difficult when it’s cold. At least that’s our excuse. Today we did a mash up of 1st&10 and 7 of Diamonds and threw in a ladder drill for some agility. Success…no injuries! (Though I’m still untangling the ladder) Had a few minutes to spare at the end of the beat down, so we decided to experiment with the F3 workout deck and finished up with some Mary. Today was my first Q and it is confirmed that I cannot count. Thankfully my brothers can!

  • I just felt like running – from Jose10k

Well, I need to prepare for the turkey trot, so what better way than to run with the guys at the 10k au lait. Beautiful weather, 56 degrees. However, I guess I was the only one who felt like running. Paxminer at least will credit me for attending today. Russo, that’s every AO. That’s all I got.

  • Route 66 Part II and post beat down breakfast! – from BBQ

Another Route 66 themed beat down on 10/6 and following YHC ‘s 66th birthday! A quick warm up as YHC was late and we needed to get to the thang. A BLIMPS. 6 spots for 6 different exercises and different reps. 6 Burpees then mosey to 12 lunges ( 2 as 1 and half forward and 1/2 backward ) then mosey to 18 Imperial walkers then Bobby Hurley every third parking spot line to 24 Merkins then mosey to 30 air presses then mosey to 36 squats and finish with a Travis Kelce every third parking spot line ( a 3 point stance!) . Most of the PAX completed 6 rounds. Bushwhacker and Hogsbreath intensified and did 8+. There was music. Route 66 song in warm ups and XFM’s Classic Rock BBQ channel. We ended with a few stretches. COT and BBQ prayed us out. It was a honor to lead this PAX. The big bonus was another breakfast by Stella. Umm great! Bushwhacker brought flower and made my M’s day!
