  • Okwata Barre Redux

A still, muggy morning at Okwata after a brief touch of fall . . .

Warm-Up: mosey to the fountain and then circle up for SSH x25, Abe Vigoda x15, Arm Circles x20 (10 each direction), Imperial Walkers x25, Peter Parkers x15, Parker Peters x15.

The PAX moseyed around the fountain and went to the fountain barricade for barre.

COP1: 3 exercises (Single-leg lunge, Side leg raise, Pistol squat), 3 Sets with a mosey after each set, 1st Set x20, 2nd Set x15, 3rd Set x10 (each leg, i.e. 1st Set 20 on left and 20 on right)

COP2: The PAX moseyed to the sea wall for a Hurricane Hoedown (counting down from 7 with flutterkicks in 4 positions – upright, hands, elbows, flat) and Wife Pleasers in between sets.

COP3: The PAX moseyed to the fountain barricade for Jack Webb Went to the Bar.  This was like a standard Jack Webb, but for the air presses, the PAX had to sit against the bar. If the PAX’s legs weren’t mush yet, sitting against the bar took care of it.

COP4: The PAX moseyed to the Cabana of Pain for 2 sets of AMRAP pull-ups.

Count off, Nameorama, close out with announcements, intentions, and prayer. Thank you for the gloom, Sky Q. Teach us to be generous!

The PAX did a lot of work in a short amount of time, and the whole body got hit.  Perfect start for the day.  Thank you for letting me Q!

  • Hurricanes Hoedown and a Special Prayer

This morning, we were thankful for the cold front protecting our city and making our beatdown a little easier.

After the disclaimer, the PAX moseyed around the fountain with follow the leader for karaoke and high knees. Circle up for SSH x20, Abe Vigoda x15, Arm Circles x20 (10 each direction), Imperial Walkers x20, and Peter Parkers x20.

The PAX then moseyed down to a lighted a portion of the levee for an 11 with burpees (descending) and low-slow squats (ascending).   Next, the PAX enjoyed a hurricane hoedown (today, hurricanes) with wife pleasers ending each set.

For the last COP, the PAX moseyed to the Cabana of Pain and broke into two groups.  One group did pull-ups AMRAP. The other group did dips x20 for the timer.

The PAX moseyed to the virtual flag for count off, Nameorama, announcements, intentions, and prayer.  We prayed for those that were not and will not be spared from hurricanes this season and asked that we be given the generosity to pray for them and help them out in any way we can.  Sky Q, teach us to be generous!

  • Okwata Sunrise

It’s the time of year that the dawn sun shines on the PAX as it breaks over Okwata. The PAX had to stop and admire Sky Q’s handiwork.

    Disclaimer. Then . . .

Warm-Up: mosey to the fountain to find a dry spot, then circle up for SSH x25, Abe Vigoda x15, Arm Circles x20 (10 each direction), Imperial Walkers x25, and Mountain Climbers x20.

The PAX moseyed around the fountain paths and went to the barricade.

COP1: 3 exercises, 3 Sets with a mosey after each set, 10 reps each leg

Single-leg lunge, Pistol squat, and Side leg raise

COP2: Moseyed to the seawall for a great view of the Okwata sunrise while doing a Hurricane Hoedown. Thanks, Cowbell!

Then, mosey up the levee and down the levee to the Cabana of Pain.

    COP3:

One group did pull-ups or chin-ups AMRAP. Second group did merkins AMRAP. Third group did dips x20 for the timer. Two rounds.

The PAX moseyed to the flag for MARY: Hello Dolly, Real Freddie Mercury, and Tin Snips x20.

Count off, Nameorama, close out with intentions, and prayer. Thank you for the sunrise, Sky Q. Teach us to be generous!

  • After the Rain (Barre II)

The rain finally came to an end, and in the gloom, the PAX appeared. Disclaimer. Then . . .

Warm-Up: mosey to the fountain to find a dry spot, then circle up for SSH x25, Abe Vigoda x15, Arm Circles x20 (10 each direction), Imperial Walkers x25, and Mountain Climbers x20.

The PAX moseyed around the fountain and went to the barricade for Barre II.

    COP1: 4 exercises, 3 Sets with a mosey after each set, 1st Set x20, 2nd Set x15, 3rd Set x10 (each leg, i.e. 1st Set 20 on left and 20 on right)

Single-leg lunge, Rear leg raise, Pistol squat, Side leg raise

The only good thing about the x20 set was that the next set was x15. After the final mosey, the PAX was back at the bar.

COP2: Jack Webb Went to the Bar

This was like a standard Jack Webb, but for the air presses, the PAX had to sit against the bar. If the PAX’s legs weren’t mush yet, sitting against the bar took care of it.

Then, mosey up the levee and down the levee to the Cabana of Pain.

    COP3:

One PAX did pull-ups or chin-ups AMRAP. Second PAX did diamond cutter merkins AMRAP. Third PAX did dips x20 for the timer. Two rounds.

The PAX moseyed to the flag for MARY: Dying Cockroach, Slow LBCs, Hello Dolly, Flutter Kicks, and Tin Snips x20.

Count off, Nameorama, close out with intentions, and prayer. Thank you for the gloom, Sky Q. Teach us to be generous!

    MOLESKIN

The weather was bad the night before, but two senior PAX joined YHC for a different workout than most at Okwata. The running was short, but the exercises made up for it. It was an honor to Q.

  • The PAX went into a barre . . .

The PAX ignored the threat of severe weather and met at the flag, and after the disclaimer, the beatdown started.

Warm-Up: mosey around the fountain with follow the leader for karaoke and high knees. Circle up for SSH x25, Abe Vigoda x15, Arm Circles x20 (10 each direction), Imperial Walkers x25, and Plank Jack x20.

The PAX moseyed away from the fountain and then turned back and ended up at the fountain, which has a sturdy barricade around it. Who needs spandex, a fancy studio with mirrors, and waxed wood with brass fittings? The top bar of that barricade was all the PAX needed for the THANG.

    COP1: 3 exercises, 3 Sets with a mosey after each set, 1st Set x20, 2nd Set x15, 3rd Set x10 (each leg, i.e. 1st Set 20 on left and 20 on right)

Single-leg lunge, Side leg raise, Pistol squat

It sounded easy when YHC wrote this out, but it was painful. The only good thing about the x20 set was that the next set was x15. After the final mosey, the PAX was back at the bar.

COP2: Jack Webb Went to the Bar

This was like a standard Jack Webb, but the PAX was given the option to do an incline merkin with feet on the bar. For the air presses, the PAX had to sit against the bar. If the PAX’s legs weren’t mush yet, sitting against the bar took care of it. In mumblechatter, Fracsac said, “Jack ordered a double at the bar.” Exactly!

Then, mosey up the levee and down the levee to the Cabanna of Pain.

    COP3:

Broke into two groups. One group did pull-ups or chin-ups AMRAP. The other group did dips x25 for the timer. Two rounds.

The PAX moseyed to the flag for MARY: Slow LBCs, Leg Climber x10 (each leg), Tin Snips x20.

Count off, Nameorama, close out with intentions, and prayer. Thank you for the gloom, Sky Q. Teach us to be generous!

    MOLESKIN

This was a different workout than most at Okwata. The running was short, but the exercises made up for it. The PAX was enthusiastic to try something new.

  • 610 Stomp #80

“How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?” Satchel Paige

Today was YHC’s birthday Stomp and first post at the Stomp. You don’t get to pick the day on which your birthday falls.

    DISCLAIMER

    The Thang

Typical bayou route, but turn around after 15 minutes to leave time for Mary.

    COP: Mary

    YHC started it off with:

    25x LBCs IC
    25x Flutter Kicks IC

Then, YHC asked for some Mary b-day presents from the PAX:

25x Slow Dying Cockroach IC (increasing cadence) from Kimchi
25x Wife Pleasers IC (eyes closed) from Amnesty
25x Tin Snips IC from Fracsac
    2-minute Rotisserie Chicken from Tool

10 burpees to close out with an awesome finish!

    COT:
Countoff, Nameorama, and Prayer (for the blessings received and generosity)

  • Wet and Grassy

Everything was wet. The seawall was wet. Two paths to the fountain were flooded. But, the levee glowed with wet, cut grass. So, the PAX got wet and grassy with Elevens.

YHC tried to keep the PAX dry for COP. SSH 20xIC, Don Quixote 20xIC, Mountain Climbers 19xIC, Arm Circles 21xIC (catch-up), Peter Parkers 20xIC, Imperial Walkers 20xIC, and LBCs 20xIC (had to get a little Mary in now).

Then, the PAX mosey-ed down the street and to the levee for Elevens. The PAX started at the bottom of the levee with burpees on one side of the levee and low slow squats on the other. Some took the opportunity to have a fresh grass snack. Others added some green highlights to their facial hair. T-Claps for the entire PAX for sticking with it and MumbleChatter for the FNG (with a lagniappe trip over the levee).

Then, Mosey to the sea wall for alternating run / bear crawl.

No time for Mary. Quick mosey back to the flag for Name-O-Rama, announcements, intentions, and COT. The PAX welcomed Tiny Dancer (FNG).
