  • Strangers in the night!

    YHC arrived to a quiet AO with no sign of life. With the always posting Water Pik out of town for the holiday week, I was thinking this may be a repeat of a Hans Solo appearance from recent memory. As I walked around the court with mixed emotions not knowing if any brethren would be appearing my hopes were quickly lifted as the site of movement revealed that Amnesia had taken the previous nights EH. Welcome to our newly planted West St Tammany resident.. Shortly there after the likes of Bushwacker coming in hot to join the PAX, we assembled around a dirty center court.. Missing you Captain (Chief) Sparkles, your diligent cleanliness was surly missed this Gloom..

    Warmup consisted of all IC to 15 Toe Touches, Arm circles forward, Arm circles to the sky, Windmills, Cherry pickers (which prove much more effective following Arm circles) and SSH..

    Thang consisted of a series we will call 10s..

    Monkey bars for 5 pull-ups, 10 jump squats and 15 Merkins for 10 rounds..

    Total 50 pull-ups, 100 Jump Squats and 150 on the Mérks for those not wanting to work out the simple math 🤯😬..

    To the court for a mixture of other exercises with full court sprints between.

    25 IC was the count for exercises consisting of Little Manny crunches, Cowbell Flutters, Rosalitas, Ocho Monkey Humpers and Sparky wife pleasers..

    With time quickly expiring we close out with 3 full court sprints to end with the elevated heart rate we all come for in this early Gloom..

    YHC closed with prayers for the F3 brethren traveling this week and reminded Bushwacker of my more recent take away to intentionally be KIND and not just nice!!

  • Laundry list ✔️!!!

    With a blast from the past planning to post this Gloom at Grandmothers House.. YHC arrived at grandmas excited about two things.. First to see Ringo who has been away for awhile taking care of his second home in Florida, serving the many patrons colored, flavored and topped pancakes as they visit the beaches on summer vacation.. If your down his way in Destin, stop on in at the “The Pancakery” and replenish those carbs you may have burned off at a recent F3 post.. Be careful though, as Dredd likes to say “You can’t out King your Queen.” Second was to complete a beatdown from a previous Q at the Gipper… With a few modifications in place the YHC planned the return of the WASHATERIA!! All though this wasn’t new to Bushwacker and Cowbell, the YHC should have given better instructions as Mr. Wacker decided to pullout his Grundyism along the way.. Halfway through as Cowbell and the Q seemed to be pulling away, Bushwacker after taking partner Ringo through some extra counts on a few of the reps decides to confirm the counts of the exercises.. Lagniappe always accepted, wether it be extra chocolate chips, Hershey drizzle or whip cream on those pancakes and Ringo gobbled up the extras like a true veteran..

    Warmup consisted of all IC to 15 Toe Touches, Windmills, Mummy kicks and SSH…

    With 7 mins to spare PAX took to their six for some Mary. 1 PAX would sprint the corridor and Mosey on the return while the rest of the PAX we’re completing Little Manny crunches, Wife Pleasers and Hello Dollies.. Each PAX got through 3 rounds in all to the 0600 hour of completion..

    We circled up for the count off, announce and COT!!

    Gave the honors to our veteran guest Ringo.. He graciously reminded us to be thankful for the many blessings we have already enjoyed and not necessarily the things we wish for…

    I will include something Bushwacker shared at a previous post that has really struck the YHC..

    “Go out and be KIND, not nice but KIND!”

    That phrase is so intentional, and F3 starts with the intention to be ones better self, so to be better for those around us..

  • Wash Wednesday! Too be continued….

    3 PAX converged at the car pool spot to travel slightly further North to the Gipper on this pleasant non humid Gloom.. Bushwacker and Steve already positioned and ready to roll as the YHC rolled up at 0535.. Arrived at the Trailhead with greetings from Turbo, fresh off a recent visit much further North where the mild 60s we were experiencing was an all day affair.. PAX swelled to 8 quickly as 10k Jose also stopped in to give a good morning after finishing up a 10k to start his Gloom. Had he not been assigned to summer school I am sure he would have stayed and enjoyed the lesson plan of the day… 0600 so it was time to get started.

    Warmup was short to spare time for the beatdown and consisted of 10IC Windmills, Seal Jacks, SSH and Butt Kicks..

    Moseyed to the rock pile to pickup moderate coupons to be used later in the workout. Dropped them off by the courthouse and then across to the parking garage to get things going. With an odd number of 7 we split into three groups.. Exercise was the William Wallace.. Each group placed at a corner P1 held plank while P2 ran to the center of the square to perform a series of exercises called by the Q. Flap jacked till everyone completed 10 Burpees, 10 (8) count body builders, 20 Merkins and 20 Squats… Once completed we returned to the courthouse for an extended W.A.S.H better known as the WASHATERIA!! Still in pairs with P1 doing the exercise while P2 moseyed up and back down the stairs picking up the count..

  • Pre-thang to Northshore’s first 2 a day!!

    7 PAX converged on the Scramble this Gloom preparing for their first experience with a 2 day. Cowbell will be introducing an evening Q occurring at the Mandeville Lakefront for 6 followed by some F2 at the Beach house.. YHC had considered doing some interval training, however many have come to appreciate the routine of our 5k Scramble, so no reason to break with the norm.

    Took to the streets of Mandeville with the PAX staying together for the first 1/4 mile or so till we crossed East Causeway approach. After crossing a couple of different groups formed. The “Gazelles” Steve, Garfield and Cowbell jumped out to set the pace. Followed by Zoolander and Chewy with Water Pik and the Q not far behind.. Hats off to Water Pik for pacing with the all to familiar lagging YHC, as we chattered along catching up on conversations we hadn’t shared in some time..

    PAX all finished with respectable times ranging from 8-9 mins. Finished out with a series of exercises mostly performed on our 6 or reversed.. 2 30 sec holds of mission impossibles, 2 rounds of scorpion kicks 10 IC, 10 IC Wife pleasers, 10 IC one legged wife pleasers, 20 IC Flutter kicks, 10 IC Hello Dollies, 10 IC Heels to heaven and finishing with 20 IC LBCs…

  • First at the Marsh for ole EiEi Oh? Literally/Figuratively

    YHC arrived at the Marsh to the sights of an unfamiliar truck.. As I exited, so did one EiEi now that’s a pleasant surprise but certainly a welcomed one.. Then the likes of another arrival not seen in sometime with Pelican pulling in as Steve and Bushwacker make there way to center court.. Of course the Marsh would not be complete without the pillar of Monday posts Water Pik rolling in right on time.. We circle up at center court to warmup for our “Marsh 500” on this heavy humid Gloom.. Not sure of the track temperatures but most of the PAX would soon be cooling things down with much perspiration as we embark down Lamarque street..

    Assembled on Lamarque for the first bit of instruction. Simple Mosey to the first cross street for our 1st of only 5 exercises.. 20 8 count body builders OYO, as the YHC knew that he would not be able to maintain an accurate count as we progressed down Lamarque. Corner 2 20 8 count body builders, 25 Merkins. Moseyed on to our next block 20 8 count body builders, 25 Merkins, 34 Squats. By this point Q was beginning to wonder what possessed him to elect 8 count body builders as one of the exercises, but then Bushwhacker noticed the Ragnar t-shirt YHC was wearing which states “It’s not crazy if we all are doing it!” On to the fourth corner for 20 8 count body builders, 25 Merkins, 33 Squats, 50 Plank Jacks.. Arrived on the 5th corner at Lakeshore and Lamarque for completion. 20 8 count body builders, 25 Merkins, 33 Squats, 50 Plank Jacks and 100 LBCs.. By this point the objective of the PAX is to just complete in whatever order necessary or as we like to say modify to your abilities… PAX began some mumble chatter of a possible Uber pickup, which made the YHC feel as though he had delivered a quality product for a great price… “Marsh 500” complete 5 corners, 5 exercises and 500 Total reps.. Moseyed our 1/2 mile return to the court arriving with 2 mins to spare for a chill cut Plank followed by 10 IC J-lows..

    Glad to have all you men post this Gloom, especially EIEI. Looking forward to seeing you at other AO’s as well 👊🏻!!

  • Global warming impacts at the Gipper!

    Q began his journey to the Gipper after picking up Bushwacker at the old WD parking lot.. Upon arrival we noticed multiple cars and trucks converging on the gravel parking area for this mild Gloom.. As each PAX emerges and meets by the flag, the ole faithful pre thang runners club enters sight and soon joins the rest of us waiting to begin our beatdown.. No new comers on this day just the same old vets of past Post. Gave short disclaimer and encouragement of modification when needed as the beatdown would include plenty of reps..

    Moseyed to The Taj Mahal to the front circling around the flag pole.. Q will claim the name of “Circle of Choice” however I remember another PAX introducing a similar workout in past post.. The way it worked was each PAX had the opportunity to call an exercise as we went around the circle.. Must mention that the PAX was given instruction to keep the counts at no more then 10 IC count.. As would have it however, some elected to alter the speed of the count (Bushwacker) staying within the parameters set, while others would just proceed to modify to their own liking and double up the IC at the end (Cowbell)..

    Moseyed over to the parking garage. At this point Maverick made the PAX aware of a 10 degree change in temperature. We partnered up on the bottom floor. P1 did donkey kickoffs while P2 back pedaled the flat halfway turning into Carioca returning the same way.. FJ After a much needed slow 10 count by Wacker and YHC still gasping for O2, Q requested a 2nd by Legal… Round 2 placed P1 back at the wall for the donkey kickoffs while P2 back pedaled halfway and then turned sprinted returning again the same.. FJ

    Recovery walked to the stairs and assembled at the top of the garage for Four corners Escalators.. Count consisted of 10, 10-20, 10-20-30 closing with 10-20-30-40.. Burpees, Merkins, Plank Jacks and Sumo Squats… With 👁 closely watching as to make sure no PAX skipped a sequence, but even if so don’t think this crew will hesitate to make you aware that’s for sure Nothing wrong with a little competitive spirit in the end we all benefit from accountability 👊🏻.. Taxed and nearing the end we recovery walk to exit and Mosey over to the benches by the court house for 20 OyO box jumps. Mosey to the flag for completion. Took to our 6 for 20 IC Little Manny Crunches, 10 IC left arm Nolan Ryan’s, 10 right arm Nolan Ryan’s, 20 IC Flutter kicks and closed with 20 IC Hello Dollies..

  • Uniformed celebrity sightings at the Scramble!!

    5 PAX converged on the Scramble to post before the rain showers arrived.. YHC noticed Water pik already under the lamp post as I emerged from the park.. With no vehicle in sight Q realizing Water Pik had gotten in a little pre thang by running from home.. Garfield emerged from the darkness as Zoolander turned the corner and rolled in. With chatter bouncing around as each PAX joined, the time to begin quickly arrived but headlights rounding the bend revealed the Scramble would add yet another PAX in Chewy as he waited for him to join in…

    PAX began our Mosey down the standard ole Mandeville Route quickly establishing 2 different paced groups.. With Water Pik, Garfield and Zoolander pacing out front.. YHC and Chewy pulled the 6 with some great chatter along the way.. Returned to the AO for playground work with each PAX cycling through 10 pull-ups while the rest of us completed little Manny crunches OYO. 10 IC Freak nasties as each man completed Flutter kicks. Closed with Plank hold, left/right arm high as our Celebrity uniformed Captain Sparkles rolled in to make a down painment of different sorts..

  • Round Robin Roll around!!

    With an early morning text sent out asking for assistance with the Q, 3 of Northshores core arrived at the Marsh with sights of left over Easter eggs scattered throughout the AO, as if someone had forgotten where all the eggs were hidden.. This crew was sure to find the remaining few and dispose of them properly before we would proceed with our beatdown..

    YHC took the first 15 min with the warmup and mind readings of the other 2 PAX over to the playground equipment..

    Passing of the baton to Steve who took the PAX to the street for some 4 corner action.. PAX moseyed to the first completed 10 hand release/T Burpees, 20 Squats and 30 IC Flutter kicks. Sprinted the next block, upon arrival the welcoming of a 10 count and then R/R. Mosey to the next R/R and Sprint the final with Bushwacker red lighting the jump only to still smell defeat as Steve and the YHC cranked it up a notch, R/R…

    Arrived back at the AO for the pass off at which Bushwacker announced Bear crawl suicides.. Upon completion the sound of possible Bunny hop suicides filled the air to pay tribute to the recent holiday, however an audible was called to a different type of suicide.. We will call this one the barrel roll suicide modifier.. For those who have seen the movie Grown-ups with David Spade and Adam Sandler imagine the scene as Spade rolls down the hill in the tire and is abruptly stopped by police officer Shaquille O’Neil directing traffic and instantly splash Merlot’s…. Let’s hope this one leaves the mind of Bushwacker for any future Qs..

    With 6 mins left we take center court on our six to finish out with alternating call of Mary. Bushwacker 25 IC Little Manny crunches, Steve 25 IC Wife pleasers, YHC A,B,C,D holds various calls and closed with Bushwacker 25 IC Freddie Mercury’s…

  • Lone Ranger

    Arrived to a quiet Scramble with a lot of regulars deciding to take either a smart sack or a fart sack. Whichever the choice there was a Lone Ranger in Garfield as he appeared out of the darkness minus Tonto. After some chatter we jumped into our warmup.

    All IC 10 Windmills, Toe Touches, Imperial Walker Squats and SSH.

    Moseyed our route crossing paths with one time poster Roundup as we headed toward the fishing pier.. Garfield and the YHC shared in some great conversation along the way. Garfield clearly showed mercy pacing with the Q as to not leave him journeying all a lone…

    Returned to the AO and completed 20 IC Scorpion kicks, 20 IC Little Manny crunches, 20 IC Hello Dollies and closed with 10 IC Jane Fonda’s 10 IC Toe to knee L/R..

  • Grandma says come as you are, slippers and and all!!

    With aching legs still lingering from Ragnar YHC planned on an upper body tear down of sorts.. Arriving to the sites of 1 fellow brethren being Zoolander illuminating the inside of his vehicle secretly watching video of Bushwacker closing out our Ragnar event in his loaned out kilt.. No worries Zoolander the representation was successful, as well as welcomed by all.. However, there was an exception of an ole timer of sorts wearing one and coming over prompted by Ocho to remind Wacker simply that “His kilt was not as real as his own..” Zoolander being the trendsetter proved consistent in posting with his slippers.. Although some may have put limits to what can be done with those slippers there was no modification on this Gloom..

    All IC 15 SSH, Toe Touches, Windmills, Butt kicks, Arm circles and wrapped up with a recently learned favorite Donkey kickoffs. Q was a little aggressive wanting to complete 5 rounds increasing the counts by 5 with equal hold times.. Had to modify at 20 (YHC was gassed)..

    Moseyed over to the Marsh to utilize the play ground. 3,6,9 Pull-ups, Merkins and Jump Squats.. R/R (5).

    Moseyed back to the Trailhead where we completed 50, 100, 150, 200 cumulative. Burpees, Merkins, Squats and Plank Jacks.. One completed exercise while the other moseyed the corridor to the steps returning with sprints picking up count..

    Finished with Plank holds, little MANNY crunches 20 IC, Freddie Mercury’s 20 IC and Hello Dollies 20 IC..
