  • Spanish lesson please gentlemen your messing up the Qs count!!!

Lots of chatter and the return of Burgundy at the Scramble. I will be brief as my time has been consumed by other activities, but when AEP (Annual Election Period) ends I will consider taking lessons on counting in Spanish past 10…

    Warmup

IC 15 SSH, Toe touchโ€™s, Windmills, Butt Kicks, high knees and lunge walk about 30 yards..

Mosey consisted of interval sprints of 100-200 yards multiple times throughout the run. Paused briefly at the pier for Erkins and Slow squats to 15 IC. Returned to Mosey back to the AO.. Pace was a respectable 8:37 I believe called out by Cowbell.. Finished with 15 IC Merkins, Lil Manny Crunches, Scissor kicks, Scorpion kicks. Held chillcot plank 30 sec holds, left/right arm high while counting around the circle. Q learned his fellow PAX are well versed in their Spanish. Ended with 15 IC slow squats..

    YHC prayed us out!!

Appreciate the post PAX till the next time!

    Till the next Gloom ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป!!

  • Brees has a backup, and so should Bushwacker!

YHC was called in off the bench on this Scramble in hopes of filling big shoes.. While Teddy is holding his own in the Dome and on the road picking up 2 wins for our Saints.. YHC was trying to create some Scrambling moves of his own to bring the PAX to victory while starting day.. Sir Wacker a Veteran of the Scramble and Captain of many post took some much deserved rest this Gloom before partaking on a journey northern bound with Southshores Hawgcycle for a pacing adventure along his much anticipated 100 miler in Arkansas this weekend.. Good luck gentlemen and enjoy the journey.

    Warmup

All IC 10 Torso Twist, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Slow Squats, Scorpion kicks and SSH.

T-claps ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป given to Zoolander for posting even though unable to make the run he still chose to hang back and work through a series of BLIMPS and bear crawls.. We all know the local Peleโ€™ of the local indoor soccer club shall return. I tip my cap to your discipline and determination to still get out and post..

Four PAX set out with 3 Clydesdales holding back the 2 year old Colt known as โ€œCowbellโ€ from racing out the gate.. He so graciously sacrificed and hung back with the PAX as we Moseyed a modest 9:30 pace through ole Mandeville..

Great job Akbar for completing the 5k without stopping, as I know just a few weeks ago this was not so, yet you keep posting and now you are a runner and soon to be a 10 Au Lait poster as well..

Upon return we completed a mini circuit 2x of Nolan Ryanโ€™s, 5 Pull-ups, Freak nasties, leg ups and chest press holds (nice suggestion Chewy).

Count off, announced upcoming NOLA convergence and F2 on the 17th following a brief beatdown, COT included intentions for a special PAX who could not be with us today..

Thanks for following the backup this morning gentlemen ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป Till the next Gloom!!

  • IPC Pick your poison

Arrived to the AO with the sights of a Mathlete a newcomer to the Marsh.. Grundy and Cowbell arriving shortly there after. I walked off 50 yards and planted the shovel flag south of the basketball court. Thankfully Grundy showed for moral support this Gloom, but most importantly to keep YHC accurate in the script of what was required on this final IPC. Q had crossed thoughts that the coupon carry was only completed after each round of 300 reps was complete, however the always accurate Grundy corrected that quickly and the PAX got to it..

Kudos to Cowbell ringing the bell with the best time of the morning, followed by Mathlete 6 mins after and the YHC 4 mins after that.

All in all the great thing about this challenge was the fact you could mix the combinations of the assigned exercises to your own strengths and weaknesses.. Definitely leg intense on this IPC verses weeks past..

    Q prayed the PAX out!!

    ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป Till the next Gloom!

  • EiEi no show!!

Kudos to all the men on the Northshore this week who responded to the ringing of the Cowbell this pass Saturday.. Tuesday produced 8 men with Zoolander back at the weekly post bringing out an FNG โ€œHandyโ€, 10 on Wednesday with the Manny making a Gipper appearance and Maverick back in the mix as well and Thursday brought out the likes of Akbar with his virgin post at the Scramble.. All in all a great week at the posts and had our โ€œEiEiโ€ posted it would have been even better… Site Q took the helm to lead the PAX on this slightly less humid Gloom.

    Warmarama

10IC Good Mornings, 20IC SSH, 10IC Torso Twists, 20IC Imperial Walkers, 10IC Scorpion kicks and 5 Burpees OYO..

    Thang

T-๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป to Steve for posting although not able to run he stayed at the AO completing some Merkins, Manmakers, Freak Nasties, Core, etc. etc. The 3 Stallions quickly jumped out the gate and began their galloping as 3 Clydesdaleโ€™s trotted in the back..

Stallions Bushwacker, Cowbell and Water Pik finished with a high sub 7 pace and rejoined Steve for some of that Core work as the Clydesdaleโ€™s came in around high 9s. With a debatable 7 mins remaining YHC brought the PAX over to the exercise equipment for 2 rounds of 7 various movements. 5 pull-ups controlled the rest which consisted of Burpees, Plank Jacks, Chest press, Knee ups, leg raises and Freak nasties..

    Count, Annouce, COT

YHC prayed the PAX out with tribute and remembrance of the lost from Katrina 14 years ago today..

Thanks for following my lead and ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป Till the next Gloom!

  • Routine break

Backblast will be like the beatdown, just a routine break at work.. It shall be brief and to the point so here it goes..

    Warmup

10IC Torso twist, 10IC Scorpion kicks, Down dawg stretch with right leg high and left leg high.. 10IC SSH and 10IC Butt kicks..

    Thang

Upon return the PAX completed 20IC Freddie Mercuries, chill cut Plank with right arm high and left arm high.

    count, announce, COT

Appreciation to Waterpik for ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป us out!!

    ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป Till the next Gloom!

  • All we need is โ€œoneโ€!

With the Sky illuminating from heat lightning, YHC arrived at the Marsh to plant the shovel flag.. Expecting all the regulars to start appearing as time approached, only โ€œoneโ€ ever so consistent Waterpik moseyed up out of the darkness. Respecting the time we dove right in with some warmups..

12 IC Imperial Walkers, SSH, Toe Touches and Scorpion kicks. 20 IC Butt kicks and Arm circles..

Mosey around the block returning to the monkey bars. :20 ISI hold followed by :20 of pull-ups. R/R 5x. ISI complete at 1:40 and somewhere in the ballpark of 30-50 pull-ups YHC with the lesser and Waterpik claiming the higher rep count. Moseyed around the block returning to the court for some suicides sandwiched with an exercise between.

P1 ran half court and full court suicide while P2 did named exercises. F/J

Flutter kicks, Merkins , Burpees, Putinโ€™s, LBCs, Squats, Sister Marysโ€™s, Jump Squats, Bobby Hurleyโ€™s and Mountain climbers..

With 6 mins remaining PAX completed Mary.

1 min Plank, 1 min alternating left arm/right arm, 1 min Plank and finished with Nolan Ryanโ€™s 10 IC left/right..

Appreciate your discipline to always post the Marsh Waterpik!

Also your energy to push the Q past his limits!!!

    YHC prayed us out

    ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป till the next Gloom!!!

  • Circuit court in Session

Recovering from Waterpikโ€™s light rep but high intensity beatdown from the day prior. YHC decided to bring some coupons of his own to the Gipper crew. Arrived at the AO to the sights of Moby, Akbar and Maverick loosening up around the flag. Knowing the PAX would soon swell by 4 as Cowbell rolls in hot and the prethangers of Legal, Turbo and Einstein come strolling in. Brief chatter as the instructions are given to what this beatdown will entail and wanting to make sure no modifications would be needed we jumped to it..

Brief warmarama all IC 15 SSH, Imperial Walkers, Windmills and Toe Touches followed by our first 1:30 of the daily ISI (15:30 total for our final day) T-๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป to all the participants on this great challenge offered up by the Northshoreโ€™s Bushwacker.. I never could have pushed through without the push of the PAX for this one but certainly glad I did.. Cowbell mentioned adding up the total cumulative count to know officially how long of planks we completed.. Look forward to seeing that number Cowbell, not to worry we will confirm with Grundy on your specs just to be certain nothingโ€™s missed..

    Circuit court in Session

PAX starts the Mosey carrying the coupons over to the Justice center and along the way Q has one of the PAX retrieve a medium boulder from the rock pile to add to our gadgets that will be used on this Gloom.

Arrived in the middle for a long explanation by your YHC, but thankfully this high IQ PAX was able to put it all together. We created 7 stations with the 8th acting as our timer of sorts.

S1 Band curls, S2 Jump rope, S3 Mountain climbers, S4 Boulder Shoulder raises, S5 Stretch Ball sit-ups, S6 30lbs plate press, S7 Alternating Step-ups and S8 controlled the timing by running to JC up the ramp down the stairs back up the stairs and backdown the ramp returning to the start creating on round of completion once of course the PAX dropped and completed 1:30 of Plank before the switch and the next round..

Timing played out perfectly as each PAX completed the 8 circuits by 0640.. We gathered up our coupons and returned to the flag with a min to spare, so Q introduced a sample of next months challenge with a 30 sec hold in the lowered squat position.

Counted off, announced the F2 plans, COT.

Thanks to Maverick for leading us out with a prayer!!

Always enjoy posting the Gipper with the Covington PAX and till the next Gloom ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป!!

  • Triple coupon Tuesday!!

YHC decided to return at grandmas with coupons in hand. Upon arrival, I noticed the likes of Steve and Bushwacker chattering it up. T ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป to Steve for making his return to the PAX after a scare at the Gnarly last Wednesday.. Knowing that Cowbell had missed Monday, YHC anticipated a late arrival by Cowbell as his strict discipline of getting in at least 3 beatdowns for the week crossed my thoughts, which were realized as he rolled in right on time to join the PAX. Todayโ€™s beatdown would pay tribute to the AO leader at GMs Chewy who likes to focus more on form and technique rather than speed and rep count.. So letโ€™s get started!

    Warmup

10IC Good mornings, Toe Touches, Imperial Walkers.

20IC SSH, Mummy kicks and 1:30 of the daily ISI Plank hold..

    Thang

PAX had 4 stations 3 involving coupons.

Station 1: 30 pound Ruck plate with 50 ft of rope..

    Station 2: Tension band

Station 3: No coupon focus on Core.

    Station 4: Jump rope

PAX rotated through a series of various exercises controlled by the plate pull.

Each PAX completed each full cycle..

Plate pull 100 feet, curls on the tension band, donkey kickoffs for the core and jump rope.

R/R plate pull, alternating shoulder press on bands, 1:00 Plank hold and R/R jump rope.

R/R plate pull, Band Squats, 1:00 Plank hold, R/R jump rope.

R/R plate pull, tricep extensions on bands, mission impossible Plank hold with most holding between 35-45 sec finishing with chill-cut to round out the 1:00, R/R jump rope.

Eliminating the jump rope we paired up at the end of the corridor. P1 did seated band pulls/plate press while P2 sprinted the corridor completed 3 Burpees and sprinted back. R/R increase to 6 Burpees.. Being the competitive souls in which they are Bushwacker and Cowbell pushed each other to there limits, while Steve graciously modified his swiftness for the YHC as to not embarrass him at his own beatdown.. Flap jacked, so that each PAX cycled through both exercises of bands and plate press twice.

With 2 mins remaining we circled the flag to close with additional planking leaving those present with only 5 mins left for the ISI on the day..

Cowbell shared the news about the NOTC hosted event tomorrow in the city and we offered intentions for Grundy as Steve prayed us out..

Thank you gentlemen for the post and making me become a better version of myself…. Without the shared interest not sure it would be possible..

Appreciate the commitment and fellowship to start another Gloom with you!!

    Till the next Gloom ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป!!!

  • Remembrance and admiration to the many!

As YHC arrived at the Scramble with few expectations of any men posting on this holiday of Independence, the thought of the movie featuring Kevin Costner with the tag line โ€œIf you build it they will come.โ€ Through the darkness the Q could see the newly employed hairdresser Steve had already began stretching and preparing for the day. All of sudden as if they had met at a neutral location Wacker, Amnesia and Jose 10k come pulling up together like synchronized swimmers coordinating for a medal push in the Olympic Games.. As we all assemble, the chatter vibrates in the morning air and the sounds of โ€œrespect the timeโ€ Echo like voices of the far past when Turtle once posted with his F3 brethren.. YHC takes the PAX through a brief warmup of Windmills 10 IC, SSH IC 20, standing ISO quad stretches, lizard pose stretch L/R and Lunge walks across the parking lot..

Thinking back to a Chewy inspired sprint training, Q gave the tutorial on the 6 landmarks that the PAX would increase to a sprint for 250-300 yards as we moseyed through the streets of ole Mandeville… Bushwacker (Uncle Sam) being the always over achieving (also doing the 4 on the 4th @0730 in Covington) NON runner he sometimes claims to be, could only resist holding back for the first leg of sprints as he so kindly gave the PAX a glimpse of hope that he would not lap the rest of us. Thanks to Steve for saddling up and pushing the 2 year old colt as they both galloped the Scrambles standard route.. Tclaps to Amnesia for posting his 3rd Mandeville AO in as many days off his freshly moved locale to western St Tammany.. Although battling some issues, Jose 10k respectfully posted and persevered through the Scramble and showed his grit as if tackling the trails of the not so distant Ragnar loops he conquered in ATL.. By the way I still have that man shirt for you Wacker!!

Returned right at 0600 for count, announce and COT!!!

YHC prayed out the PAX asking them to remember what this day truly means and the sacrifices so many before us gave for us to have this independence! Wacker added by reminding us to also thank those who are not fortunate enough to have this day of rest and celebration as they work to ensure their abilities to simply survive and pay the bills…

Good luck to all the F3 brethren out there running the 4 on the 4th!!

God bless this great country and all the men and women who sacrificed to give us our freedom on this Independence Day!!

    ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐ŸปโœŒ๐Ÿป Till the next Gloom!!!
