  • Tabata Monday at the Milestone Marsh!!

4 men showed up at the Marsh following day light savings rollback to tackle the Tabata. The Pelican expressed how much he missed Arizona because of not having to deal with the daylight savings time. Being the observers that they are Steve and Butt Splice saw the Qs phone and figured it was Tabata Monday.. Disclaimer and let’s begin.

  • EiEi, EiEi, OH!!

Your QIC arrived at the Trailhead rolling in hot right behind the Pelican.. The PAX were standing around mumble chattering looking around for the assigned Q (EiEi) and wondering what kind of Halloween special the Farmer might  bring.. Well not today PAX,  the QIC flag in hand with shovel chiseling into the concrete like earth beneath him explained that EiEi texted in an audible the night before which your QIC accepted.. Let’s begin!!

    Warmarama

All done IC to 25 SSH, BK, WM, GM, and HB..

    the thang

Started with the first half of the  burpee mile, however we switched the Burpees to 8 count body builders (12) run 1/4 mile, R/R to the tunnel.. upon arrival we dove into the  Dora 1,2,3. As we partnered up the QIC gave specific instructions to 2 PAX who have journeyed to the 1k Merkin club (Bushwacker, Butt Splice) this also included separating the modest Steve who I initially thought was a 1k member as well. With these gentleman assisting us less (Full grown men) 😂 with the series of 100, 200, and 300.. As one man started with the WWII sit-ups demonstrated by the Grundy the other was required to run down to the other side of the light of the tunnel and back up replacing their partners count.. Thanks to Captain Sparkles for logging on map my run and keeping track of our distance through this series. Then on to Merkins and finishing with squats… After finished we had  two 10 counts and continued with the Burpee mile back to the AO. With 2 minutes remianing we wrapped up with  25 IC FK and 1 min of plank..

    count off, announcements, COT

Thank you Grundy for closing us in prayer!!

Always a pleasure leading Full grown men!! 👍

  • Did someone say Merkin? Or was it Pequod II?

5 F3 men embarked on a journey at the Gipper on this brisk Gloom.. Had the QIC known we would have the benefits of a nice brisk wind we could have journeyed to a water way to set sail with the Peqoud II. Appreciate the creative design of yet another there Moby.. Since non of the men showed with any slicker suits for the journey we will alternate and operate by land on this day..

    Tha thang

Moseyed to the court house where we all may be standing before a judge explaining the scaring of the concrete someday. Series of sprints to the first set of benchs and down to bear crawls for the next R/R 4x.  Next we split into 2 teams while one man sprinted to the stairs and up and performed (2) 8 man body builders the men at the bottom did some form of core exercise. First series Freddie Merks, second LBC, third held blank, fourth Flutter kicks and finally Peter parkers. Upon completion we dropped for 15 Merkins IC. Moseyed to the parking garage for Pequod II introduction at which Einstein observed the nice stencil work done by Moby. Let’s take to the concrete ocean gentleman. We partnered up pulling a PAX member halfway across and then sprinted the other half to return and pull back to the  other side.. With observations of Einstein appearing to have done this a time or to. I could not help but visualize a brother out wind surfing 🏄 out in the Atlantic hitting waves and performing tricks.. As Steve and I pulled Turbo, I observed that the Full grown Strength of one Steve liked to sling shot Turbo upon stopping. This reminded me of a circus scene of a man being launched from a cannon… Moseyed back to the Trailhead to close with a R/R of the warmarama.

Those in the ISI total 150 on the Merkins..

Thanks for allowing me to lead!!

  • The Scramble is a small world after all!!

QIC arrived a little early 0440 to get in some reps at the Playground for the ISI. Expecting to see other F3 brothers as he has in the past for some pre thang, he quickly realized it’s a small world when it comes to prethang before 0500. Before long he looked to his illuminating phone to see 0510 and no movement in sight, with concerns starting to mount that the morning journey would be solo, QIC Moseyed to the parking area to the surprise of multiple F3 brothers turning in from all directions. We started the Mosey on the standard route with Burgundy, Carpool and Shooter setting a little brisker pace while Dundee and Turtle paced the rear.. Upon are journey with some great mumble chatter of sorts the QIC learned a little more about Carpool. It most certainly is a small world after all,  learning that his father was ones History teacher in high school.. Returning back to the AO with 15 min to spare the PAX were happy to engage in some extra curricular activity…

20 IC Merkins, 20 IC LBCs, 1 min true F3 blank (Turtle),  20IC SSH, 20IC MK, 20 IC BK and 15 IC Arm circles F/R closing with 20 IC Arm presses..

Good luck in the 13.1 Burgundy!!

Enjoyed the Gloom with you gentleman, and appreciate the opportunity to lead!!!

  • Would someone teach this Q to count already??

Tuesday at the Trailhead is proving to be mathematically difficult on this QIC. The last 2 weeks have produced double digit numbers and this Gloom proved to be no different. I arrived to the  AO with 6-7 PAX standing around mumble chattering. Quickly the PAX awoke to 11 men including 2 FNGs ready to accept the challenge the QIC intended to deliver. But wait it’s a bird, it’s a plane nah it’s just Chewy coming through the darkness.. Total of 12 now. Now that was easy.. The Q was attentive to some of the chatter about Merkins (Turtle) so he felt the need to store that info in his memory bank for the beatdown.. Lets begin.

    the thang

Moseyed to the Trailhead, wait the AO is the Trailhead🤔 ment to say the Tunnel of glow on the Trace. Upon arrival the instructions were to split into 2 teams of 6 (math skills) with the first man starting a series of Merkins (incline/decline) at the top for 20 at the start of the glow 20 at the end of the glow 20 and at the top of the other side for 20 again. (Total 80) Yes!  The PAX hanging back awaiting there turn once the first man completed his first set was required to hold the Al gore while waiting and upon the first man completing on the other side had to hold plank and await the rest of the PAX. Seemed like a nice R/R excersise but first let’s reverse the order of the teams  and changed the staging workout to Mission Impossible hold (nice job Bushwacker I saw you killing this one brother 👍💪) on the start and finish.. The QIC and an FNG (to be continued) began the 2nd round. Once complete the PAX moseyed back to the official Trailhead to another team excersise which consisted of 8 man body builders building to 10 starting at one end moseying to the steps and up (1 top, 2 bottom, 3top 4 bottom) team Ocho,Turtle, Song Bird (FNG), Carpool, Dundee decided to put in some extra work..  Nice job fellas. (Something about not hearing instructions). Completed the task and circled up to count off and here is where the QIC takes blame in not realizing he had 2 men unaccounted for, Dundee and Carpool who were going the extra mile and completing the mission was still at the top once the count began.  My mistake gentleman, so we recounted off while Turtle gave a card to a future FNG who jumped in the mix for some work at the end..

    countarama, annoucarama, COT

Appreciate Butt Splice closing us in prayer offering intentions to those in Las Vegas and those still impacted in TX, LA, FL and PR in the wake of the hurricanes..

Welcome FNG Song Bird glad to have you!

Appreciate the opportunity to lead gentleman!!

  • Who’s the Q?

Your QIC arrived at the Scramble this Gloom not knowing what to expect for turnout. To his surprise on arriving, he spots the glow of a cell phone illuminating the inside of Turtles car. Then the cars start rolling in. Butt Splice, then Steve, Dundee and rounding out the PAX Carpool. Although I knew I had EH’ed Carpool on Tuesday and would not be alone for this hike, it was great to see (2)F3 brothers who had previously told the QIC they would be resting in preparation for Friday’s unofficial 10k show up. How awesome is it to see these brothers challenge one another to an alternate beat down of the deck of death. (Steve/Turtle) The Q offered the opportunity of choice to the PAX, to which non obliged. So we Moseyed along our standard route incorporating the ole Chewy sprints totaling (5). Upon returning we circled up closing out with SSH, HB and BK IC 20. Ended with a session of stretching..

Thanks for praying is out Dundee!!

  • Basics at the Marsh, Tabata style!!

Seven PAX converged on the court at the Milestone Marsh. Welcome Bushwacker to the weekly routine. Had a fellow F3 brother NOT Fart sacked, we could have had OCHO men on this Gloom. QIC decided to stick with some basic movements. How perfect and even is the number 8 when it comes to working out and simply multiplying times itself to give a complete count of 64.. As you can see OCHO being the number of the day.. 8×8=64 20sec work 10 sec rest with 1 min between the change of exercises..

    the thang

Round #1 SSH on the odds and PJ on the evens.

Round#2 Merkins on the odds and SMK on the evens.

Round#3 Bear crawl on the odds and Crab walks on the evens.

Round#4 Pull-ups on the odds and Arm ups on the evens.

Round#5 HB on the odds and MC on the evens.

Round#6 Burpees on the odds and 8 count body builders on the evens.

Round#7 Squats on the evens and Al gore tree huggers on the odds..

Round#8 FK on the odds and Russian twists on a the evens..

While many of the men questioned some of the PAX techniques on the moves performed this Gloom.. (Hunchbacked Turtle squat and Locked elbow Grundy Merk) One thing is certain we all worked hard and got 💪. Great job F3 brothers!!!

    Grundy prayed us out!!

Hugh thanks to @Captain Sparkles, @Steve and @Turtle for sticking around and completing the ISI  with your QIC for today!!! The PAX thanks you @Buttsplice for the recommendation 👍 of some core..

Appreciate all of you my brothers!!

  • “Knife! That’s not a knife, this is a knife!!”

Your QIC made his normal stroll through Mandeville city park from his neighborhood looking for the normal showing of 7-10 F3 brothers chattering to start the Scramble. However, this Gloom would show to be quite light with only brother Dundee standing in the shadows. As we anticipated others and were getting ready to Mosey Burgundy comes rolling in hot to complete the PAX.

    The thang

The QIC took the PAX on the original Mosey route for 3.2 miles. We kept a nice steady pace getting back to AO about 550. Circled up for a little standard routine of basics consisting of IC 25, SSH, MK, IW, HB, PJ, LBC’s, MC ending with FK..

Appreciate Dundee for praying us out!!

  • “We gotta Respect the Time!”

Your QIC arrived at 510 on this Tuesday Gloom to 4 PAX already assembled in a circle raring to go..  As of lately the beatdowns have consisted of some large PAX, so in anticipation of more F3 brothers arriving your QIC chattered it up a little bit anticipating some brothers rolling in hot. As 515 approached Turtle reminded the QIC that “We gotta respect the time.”

    warmarama

HB, BK, IW, SSH, Arm circles both directions IC to 20.

    the thang

Began a Mosey over to the Trailhead tunnel of light,  where the QIC instructed the PAX to pair off. Being an odd number of course the Q joined in with Turtle and Dundee while Steve and Car Pool partnered up. Excerise consisted of holding plank while your partner sprinted down the ramp to the flat zone to bear crawl to the other side and then turn and back pedal up the incline upon arriving to the top R/R to replace your partner. Turtle shot out the gate like a Hare challenging Steve, who soon provided the answer that he is indeed a “Full grown man!” (Turtle terminology). Second series we began the 8 count body builder introduced at Q school some 2 weeks ago. This time the partner sprinted down then Carioca and Sprint (R/R). Third series repeated second series as a PAX minus the 8 count. Upon completion aloud for a ten count before starting back on our Mosey to the flag. With 15 min remaining we partnered back up and utilized the stairs for Crab walking up and reverse bear crawl down while your partnered Al gored.  We then used the columns for a set of Freak nasties IC to 20. At this point the QIC seeing we still had around 8 min gave the PAX a taste of ascend and descend series using the columns as our template. First column 10 Peter parkers followed by 2 Merkins BC to next column, 10 MC 4 Merkins, 10Parker Peters 6 Merkins,  10 IC Flutter kicks 8 Merkins, 10 IC Hello Dollys 10 Merkins. At this point with Car Pool alongside pushing hard the QIC felt challenged to descend in reverse, which closed the PAX out “Respecting the time!”

  • Is Q school here yet? Your QIC sure could use it!!

Your QIC tried to start the Gloom NOT once, NOT twice, NOT three times but FOUR  times.. (🤔) This would prove not to be the only foul performed by your QIC on this mild Gloom. Wanted to start a 4IC warmup excerise toe, waist, shoulder and sky, however the QICs brain was stuck on dah 3 and could not get the count right so the PAX engaged in trying to help but to no avail… Steve in is humbleness, informed the Q at the end of the beat down that the PAX may have contributed to the brainfart the Q was experiencing, however I take full accountability for the mix up.. Enough of my justification for screwing up, let’s get started!!

    the thang

Moseyed to the Tahj for our first instruction where the PAX recalled a previous beat down incorporating Crab walks (thanks for remembering Einstein)  but the Q had other B.L.I.M.MC. (Burpees, Lunges, IW, Merkins, Mountain Climbers) (2nd foul) in mind. (R/R) I know at this point some of you are pausing and asking yourselves what is he talking about.. Well ya see, the Q called B.L.I.M.P.S and if you check the Lexicon the acronym clearly determines what the PAX should do. Q just follow the order already.. 😩 Thank you Turbo and Steve for providing knowledge that the Q will use going forward.. The Q thinking he had to modify in turn may have created a new exercise. (Not really) Moseyed to the front where the PAX circled around the flag for a series of the Merkin Wave (1,2,3,4 etc. to 10). Once completed we journeyed to the parking garage where we partnered up. Man at the bottom started Plank Jacks while their partner bear crawled halfway up and then sprinted to the Top where he called back to his partner and picked up the count. Once the partner from the bottom met back with there partner they completed the remainders together till reaching 200. Utilized the low portion of the garage for some pull-ups while the other man Carioca down and back. Moseyed to the top where the Q put the PAX on there 6 for an Indian Crab walk. PAX in single file doing LBCs while the man in the back Crab walks to the front R/R 4x till the PAX reached the stairs.. Recovery walk down the steps and then moseyed back to the trailhead.
