  • Double down!!

Wet running shoes from the Narley Nutria served this YHC as he Doubled down on a post with little rest from the previous night… Having attended the Narley and being part of the winning World domination of sorts I could not help but share with the men who had missed, what an awesome experience was had the night before. Come on, where else can one go and experience the creativity of such a large PAX and the great naming of new FNGs along with some great F2ing.. It is certainly a great thing when men from all over can come together and instantly grab chatter as if they had recently assembled at a family reunion to catchup on old times.. Certainly one of the benefits I have received in my experience with F3 and look forward to many more as I travel this thing called life with a core group of strong men.. Enough sentimental thoughts for one day!!

Began with 20 IC Windmills, Chewy one leg balance  touch both legs 8 IC. This looked worse than an all night booze fest with slurring words to the arresting officer as we epically fail this YHCs choice of field sobriety testing. Alternating lunge leg twist and then we are off for the thang..

Standard journey with flashes of Tom/Jerry playing a game of cat and mouse as Backdraft shot out the gate like a triple crown horse untamed.. Men quickly paired up and paced each other. Along the journey Q shared some good conversation with Chewy as he respectively took a moderate Mosey and hung back with a tired YHC. Tclaps to Waterpik and Coconuts for getting out there and pacing the lead of the PAX. Burgundy shared his hard commit to the Northshore half coming up in October.

Upon return with Bushwacker’s dice of doom in hand we alternated rolling knocking out a total of 50  rower sit-ups and in between 5SSH IC and 20 Burpees.

    count off, annoucements, COT

Waterpik took us out in prayer offering intentions to all the F3 brothers!!

    Appreciate the lead men!!

    Thank you F3, ✌🏻👊🏻💪🏻!!

  • Round Robin!!!

With a recent resurgence of F3 posters at the Marsh,  this Gloom would provide the opportunity for a round robin of sorts.. Knowing the Q was out on IR would allow for a mixed bag of goodies like rolling through a drive thru at Red Robin to get your hand into a greasy bag of salty fries on a summer vacation across an interstate near you.. 6 PAX descended on the Marsh to become better and to start the week off right. Captain-Chief Sparkles with push broom in hand cleared the center court circle as if he were Prepping for an inspection by the city of Mandeville recreational department. As in BB past we know the Marsh never lacks the need for a pickup of sorts following a festive weekend. Grabbing the BULL @OCHO YHC took the lead to assemble the men around center court and extend his thoughts of a round robin for this beatdown.. Taking the first 15-20 min YHC started the PAX with a warmup series of 20 IC Seal Jacks, 20 IC  Monkey Humpers (yes in the warmup Bushwacker), 15 IC Windmills, 10 IC Armcircles out forward/up inward and reversed for a total of 4 rounds. Concluded with 20 IC SSH..

    thang

As I peered into the thoughts of  fellow brethren Bushwacker we took to the baseline for 5 Burpees sprint the court, 10 Burpees sprint the court 15 Burpees sprint the court 20 Burpees. Rinsed and repeated with 2 other exercises  same counts Steve’s Groiners and completed with Squats. Passed the baton to Bushwacker for a core crippling experience. Partnered up for 200 flutterkicks, 200 Putin’s, 200 Bicycles and 500 LBCs. Partner 1 ran suicides free throw, half court, free throw and other baseline while partner 2 took to his six keeping count with partner assuming count upon return till completion of each exercise. Upon completion baton handed off to Waterpik for the closeout who makes sure we get in the ISI on the day or at least conquer some to make the thought of getting the rest done seem like a cake walk. We head to the play ground area of mulch at the suggestion of the author as he recalled producing a a blister of sorts on his dairy air a few weeks back and was not looking to replicate.. On arrival we take to our 6 for 20 rower sit-ups, 10 Merkins, 20 more rower sit-ups finishing with 20 Merkins..

Assemble back to the shiny circle for count off, announcements and COT..

    YHC lead us in prayer.

Appreciate the post F3 brethren and the accountability to become a better man..

    👍🏻✌🏻👊🏻

  • Remembering Wilt!!

Following the start of free agency for the NBA with record breaking contracts of just 4 top players eclipsing 600 million the YHC decided to reminisce about an old baller back in the day. Although we wouldn’t be throwing around the millions this Gloom we paid tribute to one of the greats on the court. The Marsh with its full court available laid tribute to some of the down payment on this beatdown.

    warmup

All IC 15 toe touches, good mornings, windmills, SSH and Butt kicks..

    thang

Started off with”Wilt Chamberlains” 100 LBCs, sprint the court to the other end 100 Squats, sprint back 100 Flutter kicks, sprint again and wrap up with 100 leg lunges. Started a Mosey down Lamarque to the lakefront and hooked a right to the corner of Girod and Lakeshore. Arriving with the smells of cigarette smoke coming through the walls of a local saloon Q instructed the next round which is “Wall of fire” with a twist. Waterpik held balls to the wall while YHC completed 10 Merkins, 10 LBCs and 10 Burpees then reversed positions. Round 2 10 Werkins, 10 Flutter kicks and 10 Burpees. Round 3 10 hand release Merkins, 10 Putin’s and 10 Burpees.  Much respect to Waterpik who never released from the wall, unlike the Q who had to take breaks through the balls to the wall to salvage potential face plants on the concrete surface.. After a gathering of composure we began the journey back to the AO for a close with the ISI by Steve this month starting with 20 sit-ups.. Go get some men increasing by 5 daily which will prove interesting toward the end of July.

2 count, announced 4 on 4th, Q prayed us into the day!!

Thanks for posting Waterpik and keeping me accountable to not only myself but also the AO!!

    ✌🏻👊🏻👍🏻

  • One to grow on!!

With another year in the books the YHC arrived at the Scramble on his birthday Q. To no surprise the regulars, with the exception of one Bushwacker 🤔decided to post and celebrate in the festivities. Jumped into a short warmup before we embarked on our standard Scramble route..

    Warmup

    15 IC Toe touches

    15 IC Windmills

    15 IC SSH

Started our Mosey with Chatter of the previous nights Arkansas/Oregon State game ending in a way, which surly would have a betting man thinking how did that just happen.. Come on!! Let’s hope a routine  pop up with 2 outs to win your first Ship doesn’t come back to put the Razor in their Backs figuratively speaking.. Enough with the hate of an SEC foe, go Hogs!! Returned to the AO for 42 Merkins and two rounds of  protractor with each PAX calling out a degree of leg extensions.  Something the Q picked up in his travels to Charlotte this past weekend.. Closed with 21 IC LBCs. For those with better math skills than I equals  42 hence the one to grow on..

    Appreciate the post gentleman!!

Count, announcements (Choppa considering a Q featuring a beefed up Murph at a post near you), COT

Much thanks to Sprocket for the pray out into the day!!!

  • Simply Super without Super Steve!!

With Grandmas House missing Super Steve, who could by the way pass for 21.  YHC decided to bring back an old beatdown which would prove to be Super Simple. At least in terms of the amount of variations of work, but by the end would prove rewarding in the completion of “Super 21!!” No ID required for this venue.. The post did produce the youthful Waterpik and Pelican who probably get ID checked upon checkout at your local grocer when they throw up the occasional bottle of say “Makers Mark” or perhaps “Woodridge reserve.” Either way there would be no drinking on this Gloom only humid air and perspiration which neither requires ID checks so let’s begin…

    breif warmup

    20 IC SSH

20 IC Imperial Hillbillies (Think that’s the name) Quickly learned that’s one of those long counts that this public educated Q had no business trying to conduct..

    15 IC Front/Back Arm circles

    20 IC Toe touches

    thang

Moseyed around the corner to the Treen center parking area. Instructions Super 21. For those not familiar with the Lexicon 1 Merkin and 1 ab excersise (FK), Mosey halfway around the building 2 Merkins 2 FK, Mosey halfway 3 Merkins 3 FK, etc. etc. etc. On completion of reps 7, 14 and 21 we incorporated some lower half. 7 (Squats x21), 14 (SMK x21) and 21. (Jump squats x21). In total 231 Merkins and 231 Flutter kicks with 52-1/2 leg reps and a total of 2.2 miles I believe mentioned by the Pelican.. Once completed Moseyed back to flag with 5 min to spare. Held 1 min elbow plank, right and left and closed with 30 IC LBCs..

    count, announce, COT

    Q closed in prayer!

Appreciate the post gentleman and the chance to lead!!

    Till the next Gloom ✌🏻!!

  • Testing Masculinity at the Gipper

Arrived to the Gipper with mild 70s and a hint of fog. This Gloom certainly lacked previous post of suffocating humidity, which helps with perspiration even when the beatdown may not start as intense and require a sweat towel of sorts. To keep the beatdown as masculine as one may, minus the chatter of “Zoolander” and ballerina spins performed by Maverick during the Qs exercises. The beatdown would soon dampen the chatter and there would be no more ballerina turning when all was said and done.

    warmup

    20 IC Imperial walkers

    10 IC Good mornings

    20 IC Mountain climbers

    10 IC Wind mills

    20 IC Butt kicks

    thang

Moseyed to the Taj around the flag pole for the “San Antonio Shuffle” which consists of left/right leg lunge, into a Burpee and wrapped up with a Plank jack. We separated into 2 teams and one team held Al Gores while team two completed the shuffle. This is where we were gifted with the talents of Maverick and the Ballerina swirl. R/R till each PAX reached 10 total. Short Moseyed to the top of the parking garage for the completion of the Qs previous deck of death at another post. With half the deck remaining the suits went this way. ♥  SSH, ♠ Merkins, ♣ Flutter kicks and ♦ Jump squats. With cards representing face value and the lone Joker left equaling 25 with the exercise chosen by the man who flipped it at which Einstein calls Burpees. Huh? Exercises are 🙄 sir and that was not an option, so with reluctance he calls the next best to count toward the ISI of this month the Merkin.. Once we completed the deck Moseyed to the back side of the courthouse for another workout grabbed from the Lexicon “Stairway to Seven” which is 1 Burpee 1 Incline Merkin up the stairs 1 squat and backdown R/R till everyone completes to 7. Moseyed to the front of the courthouse and split back into teams. Team 1 did sleeping Hillibilles while team 2 journeyed up the steps for 10 Merkins. Teams swapped positions till each PAX did left/right side then we changed to E2Ks and ended with Peter Parker’s. Total in all was 51 additional Merkins rounding out the ISI counters at 200 on the morning. Moseyed back to the flag for count off, announcements and COT.. Turbo mentioned the CSAUP of the Narley approaching July 19th and Bubba prayed us out.. Welcome to the Gipper Barely legal, glad to see you post..

Thank you Brothers for the lead!!

    ✌🏻 Till the next Gloom!!

  • Someone get that man a pump!

The Scramble began with upper 70s and what felt like 100 percent humidity. One could break a sweat by merely walking to the flag. With YHC in pursuit of the ISI challenge for the month, profuse sweating should count for .1 or .2 maybe in the ever tight race between south shores Fracsac and I. However, caps off to you Fracsac as the Q was reminded by Steve that you indeed would be Qing as well in this Gloom. So, I humbly accept 2nd place for the ISI in May and don’t plan on calling for a recount of sorts. Unless my legal counsel finds flaws in the reporting system of sorts and believes there to be merit in such a decision.. Congrats!

Enough of that, so 4 men decided to embrace the heavy Gloom with the YHC. We started out with a warmup of 20 IC Windmills, 20 IC Good mornings and alternating lunge twist for about 50 feet. We start into the run with Chewy quickly noticing the flat of another mans shoe hissing out air as we begin. Appears Choppa has sprung a flat, which Pelican responds with remembrance of the old Reebok pump up shoes “Just pump it up!” YHC decided to mix up the standard routine and incorporate some sprints along the way. Q would call out a land mark at which point the PAX would quickly accelerate for 10 long strides then backdown to Mosey. This took place throughout our run. I am not sure of the total amount of burst we completed but the end proved to be very taxing. After we passed a little beyond the halfway mark returning off sunset pier we paused for some core work 25 IC LBCs, 25 IC Flutter kicks and 15 IC Alternating elbow to opposite knee crunches (left/right). Returned back to Mosey till completion. Once back at the AO took in some more core. Elbow plank, left/right elbow plank, alternating leg wife pleasers and regular wife pleasers wrapped up with Nolan Ryan’s left/right.

    Count off, announcements and COT

Appreciate Pelican for praying us out!

    ✌🏼 till the next post!

  • Murph Marsh Monday!

YHC arrived at the AO to an early return of vacationer Waterpic..  Figured with the holiday the Marsh would not produce many at this beatdown and unfortunately my thoughts were correct as many chose the path of Fartsacking on this memorable day we call Memorial Day!! Time is of the essence and we have non to spare with the Murph on the agenda. So let’s pay homage to our Veterans past and present. Also let us remember the sacrifices put forth by both themselves, as well as their families..

Simple explanation broken in 2 sets. 5 rounds of 10 pull-ups, 20 Merkins and 30 Squats. Followed by 1 mile run. R/R. Of course some modifications needed through this challenging beatdown, with much respect to Lt. Murph knowing he did no modification as well as completed with a ruck sack in tow…

Returning we count, name and pray!!

Waterpic recommendation of a little F2 coffateria afterwards proved just as rewarding!!

    Apprecite the post Waterpic!!

    ✌🏻 till the next beatdown!!

  • Revival, Repost and Reverance!!

The Scramble proved this YHC wrong on this Gloom. As I awoke this morning thoughts came over me knowing that a few of the regulars (Steve/Waterpic) would not be posting. I began wondering if it would be a solo post of sorts. Those thoughts were quickly erased with the revival of the Wacker of Bushes/Pelican and the repost of Sprocket who has become a regular Scrambler and the Reverance to a Hall of Fame Wrestler welcome (FNG) JYD. Nice job to Choppa for EHing!! With Chewy and EiEi arriving with 15 seconds to spare the numbers quickly swelled to 8 men, which is a great number considering all the past men who were once regulars (Captain Sparkles/Butt Splice/Burgundy/Sea Bass) and had they posted we would have surly shattered any previous record the Scramble had seen in its past..

    warmup

All IC 20 SSH, Imperial Walker and Windmills.

    thang

Standard route on this Gloom would provide the PAX with a community activity along sunset point where what appeared to be a setup by the Wacker. It  was as if the test of trash pickup needed to be taken to another level and indeed it was as half his journey consisted of carrying a garbage bag filled with the goods collected along our path to the return of the AO. We wrapped up with 15 IC Merkins, 15 IC LBCs, 15 IC cross crunches left/right and closing with 15 IC Hello Dollies. Naming of JYD proved to take us all back to a time of Reverance to the WWE and WWF.. Welcome JYD!!

Appreciate Choppa for praying us out!!

✌🏻 to everyone on this holiday weekend!!

  • Grandmas boot camp!!

QIC set the alarm a little early with a prethang run in mind to Grandmothers house. Along the way a creeping SUV pulls along side throwing up a wave, which quickly brought back flashbacks of my youth when one could have mistaken the slow creep for some type of turf check or creepy guy slow crawling the neighborhood in search of some illegal  substances. Waterpik quickly dismissed those thoughts with a smile and fist pump as I entered the tarmac of the Trailhead less anxious to bolt through the woods or cut down a cross street. Arrive on the scene at Grandmas House to Steve, Dr. “NO” and Waterpik. With brief chatter of Grundy’s Q at the Marsh we jump right in.

    warmup

20IC SSH, (Welcome Chewy/Choppa) 20 IC Mummy kicks, 15 IC WM, 20 IC Seal Jacks, 20 IC MC and finish with 15IC Good mornings.

    thang

Moseyed to the stage for a splitting of the PAX into 2 groups. We partake in the Wall of Pain where each member holds a wall sit while 1 man from each group does 10Merkins, 10 LBCs and 10 Burpees replacing another PAX till all cycle. Chewy’s crew being over zealous quickly begins to R/R so we completed 2 cycles. Then we Moseyed to the bus stop for Left leg step ups IC 15 followed by 15 OYO jump overs. Completed the same for Right side. Next we did a box jump 180 degree style IC which proved to be very taxing. On completion we Moseyed to the stairs and partnered up. Partner one did LBCs and alternating left/right ISO crunch while partner 2 started with 5 calf raises 2 steps,  10 calf raises 2 steps, 15 calf raises 2 steps, etc. etc. Thanks to Chewy for calling an audible alternating inward/outward/regular to focus on different areas of the calf. Inspiration came from the days of past remembering our vertical shortcomings as Waterpik   gave us a recap of the Western Conference finals from the night before. Upon completion we went into what I thought was the Crazy Indian, however before writing this backblast I reviewed my notes and the Crazy Indian is a BTTW workout which was in the running bought never made it to the beatdown. So the correct term is Indian Bear Crawl. We modified with multiple rounds first being Merkins, then Peter Parker’s, Mountain Climbers and closed with Groiners.. With a min to spare we took to plank with Choppa’s alarm being the final bell..

    countoff, announcements, COT

Q prayed us out into the day!

Appreciate the lead and you men posting!

    ✌🏻 Till the next Gloom!!
