  • Remember Little BigHorn

Just like Armstrong Custer yhs took charge of the Q from 86 without a clue as to what to do. So we made it up as we went with disastrous consequences.

Headed out for real quick mosey to the bandstand where did 21 SSH followed by 10 Burpees Deconstructed
    (10 Mericans w/ 10 Squats)
    then
    21 LBCs
    10 Mericans w/ 10 Squats

An event shorte mosey to Oak Alley Lights
Lunge to each light then 10 Mericans w/ 10 Squats

Got into 2 lines, should have been 3 for some “Catch Me if You Can Indian Run” to Row Bars, with last guy doing 10 mericans

Count was 10 Row’s, with pax doing Hello Dolly, Rosalita, and Mericans

RINSE & REPEAT cause I had to stall and had no plan.
Count was 10 Row’s, with pax doing Hello Dolly, Rosalita, and Mericans

Catch me if you can indian run, 2 lines with last guy doing 10 mericans

back to Oak Alley where we repeated the Lunge to light then 10 Mericans w/ 10 Squats

We then took the Shelter for RLSUP / LLSUP x 21
    10 Mericans
    RLPUP X21 reverse LLPUP X21
10 Dips or 10 inverted Mericans

Into the grass for a double ring of fire 10 -Mericans for a total of 20 Merican

Call out circle of Mary, LBCs, Box Cutters, Peter Parkers, Russian Twist, Crunchy Frog, Penquin, and maybe some more it was hot! Back to circle where we were greeted by Chacquita recovering from hernia reconstruction!

  • Here’s Johnny!

YHS is back! Excited to be free of the mesh restrictions I was ready to join the Pax and get back on it. When the Q decided to Fartsack it, an FNG at the flag, YHS was ready roll, we needed a TYHAC!

Warm up of SSH X 21, Peter Parker x 21, Mountain Climber x21, and Forward and Reverse Arm Circles

    Mosey to row bars:

Pax broke into 4 groups doing lunges, low slow squates, monkey humpers, with Rows as count of 15.

Mosey to a nice glade were we did Jack Webbs 1:2 reaching 11 Mericans

Two column Indian Run to the benches
    RLS x21, Dips x 21, LLS x21, Dips x21, RLPU x 21, LLPU x11

Back to the track where we lunged for 2 running men, sprinted for 2, lunged one more and sprint to Circle of Mary T-Box where an unglorious combination of Holly Dolly x10, Pickle Pounders x10, Box Cutters x10 and LBCs x10

Best effort mosey to the Pull Up bars for a max effort on the bars then on to the circle to arrive at precisely 6:15

We had an FNG who had been EH’d by NipTuck who was supposed to Q but has now taken the title as Queen of the FartSack! I couldn’t find the right lexicon for this but Peppa pointed out this was Blue Falcon moment for sure!

Until he introduced himself, TYHAC was to be his name but the FNG announced his birth name as Raoul. This brought back a rush of vivid memories of the 1982 movie Eating Raoul, where a couple kills swingers to get a downpayment on their house. So Raoul is now known as Swinger amongst us.

  • Madness in the Gloom

It was a true cinderella story! The dream of young men and old men aspiring to greatness coming true! To rise before the sun. To journey out into the damp gloom, a dampness that foreshadows summers brutal heat that hammers us with the heat of Hephaestus’ forges! Yes it was that kind of morning!

    Seizing the moment that I dreamt of, yhs launched the pax into the gloom;

    First Preal
    Imperial Walker x21
    SSH (obligatory) x21
    Mountain Climber x21
    Hilly Billy x21

Back to the track and to the Row Bars
    Count was 20 Rows
    Group of Lunges
    Group of Hello Dollies
    Group of Parker Peters
    Rinse and Repeat!

Back to the track for Catch Me If You Can / Indian Run. Dividing the Pax into 2 columns last man did 10 Mericans to sprint up back to the pax, tagging last man to drop, while continuing on to the front.

At the benches for some classic Tinkles
Declined Mericans x10 immediately followed by 10 shoulder taps.
RL & LL step ups x22 each
    Dips x15
    RLPU & LLPU x 21 each.

Back to the track and the Mary Hole for
    LBCs x20
    Rosalita x20
    Jay Los’ x20
    Leg Lefts x 20
    LBT x 20
    Box Cutters x20

Back enmasse to the pull bars
Count was Carolina Dry Docks x15
    Pull Ups
    Something ab related
And since no one could think of something better we had to do Burpees!

    On to the circle.

  • Sub Zero Pete

    They call me Subzero Pete
I’m the king of the Burpee beat
When I call the pax I go
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    Chic-chic-ky-boom

    Yes sir, I’m Subzero Pete
I’m the craze of my Uptown street
When I start to Q everything goes
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    The Pax they sing

Up Wolfpack hill our backs lead the way
No more burpees the pax they pray
So Burpees it is and we go
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    Chic-chic-ky-boom

In search of Dora we go
Mericans we dug not one shmoe
    LBC to strengthen our dough
Squat Jumps to end the show
    And we go
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    Chic-chic-ky-boom

Down the stairs and to the benches for more
The Pax they cry “why o why”
They let out a ugly sigh, “Boo Whore!”
It’s very nice! To be So full of ice!
They will be singing my song
    All the day long

So if you like the beat
Take a lesson from Subzero Pete
And I’ll teach you to Q in the subzero heat!
    And we will all go!
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    Chic-chic-ky-boom
    Chic-chic-ky-boom

Oh…and we had Q cake from Maple St Patisserie…Cavalier ate a lot!

  • What keeps you warm you ask! BURPEES DO!!!

We came from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun, where our hot beds stow
BURPEES were The hammer of the gods
We dropped and moved the earth with our hands
To fight the cold, we ran and yelled
    Valhalla, we are a coming!

From the shelter we sortied onto the Tundra Ice
    Around the park we soared
From station to station moving faster than the wind to our bones
We whispered tales of dips and power ups.

Victory through BURPEES our only warmth
    Hungry we yelled for more
All we heard were Gabrille’s snore
    Lunge, Burpee, Run, Burpee, Lunge

Back to the shelter in search of our ROOTS
    We circled for Mary
Of how we calmed the tides of war
    We are your overlords

  • New Year’s Journey to Svalbard

On the First Night of the New Year, an unofficially endorsed truce allows the sacrosanct veil of Naval regulation to be pierced .  During the mid-watch from midnight to 0400 (and only during the mid-watch) it is permitted for a ship to record the first entry of the New Year in verse.

    With that….

It was 28 degrees on the first day of the year,

Most of the PAX were sleeping off their beer.

Into the gloom we moseyed YHC and Sandbar.

As wind gusted we knew the workout wound not be subpar

The moon it was super as we set off through the trees

The north wind howled with chilling degrees.

Run to stay warm on feet made of lead

And the ducks on the lake were shaking their heads.

The AO was covered with puddles of ice

No burpees on Monday was our only vice.

On the final turn we knew we were on the verge

With 2018 upon us it is time to end this dirge

  • Forgive me father for The World has Fartsacked! But Uptown carries on!

The sea was angry that day, my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli! I got about fifty feet out and suddenly, the great Pax appeared before me. I tell ya, they were over 15 if not a dozen. As if sensing my presence, they let out a great bellow. I said, “Where’s Yankee?” With great harrumph we all let out a grand chuckle and many disparities of Yankee all cuddled in his warm bed dreaming of Elsa on the mountain top doing Burpees!

We moseyed around the lot to quite a glade on some nice grass.

    • 25 SSH, Forward Arm Circles x 15, Reverse Arm Circles x15, into a classic Duey Peter Parkers x 15 followed by the Russian Twist x 20.

Moseyed slowly to the pull up bars,

Four groups 4x4x4x3..eventually Fredo found us to make it 4x4x4x4 (Where’s Yankee? Oh yea in the sack!)

    • The count was 5 Pull Ups, with 5 Mericans between every pull up
    • Rest of the Pax did Imperial Walkers, Plank Jacks, and Lunges

Over the greens and through the course to a Quick circle of fire 5 & 10 Mericans and back on the trail through the ducks and puddles to the Row Bars.

Count was 20 Rows while Pax did Hillbilles, LBCs, and more Lunges.

As the rain began to pour in buckets we moved on to the shelter and drive jazzercise back their Lexuses to remember.

We did RLSU, Decline Mericans, Other Leg Step Ups, Dips, RLPU, Incline Mericans, and Other Leg Power Ups.

Circled up for round of Mary with, Rosalita en Espanol, Pickle Pounders, LBTs, Jingle Vader led us through Doctor W.

Quick mosey to the band stand where 1/2 pax did Mericans while the other half did the Nip Tuck Swimmer and around the band stand for a count of 5.

Back to the area where a flag used to get placed.

  • Q-es Bueller’s Work Out

Last week it was “Oh Shit I have the Q!”

Today “Holly Shit!  Where did everyone come from???”

We had 19 intrepid souls show up for the push into the gloom, original plan was not going to work so we adjusted.

Over to the kick ball field, to honor Pony Boy, for a warm up.

    20- SSH

    20 – IW

20 – Forward Arm Circles and Reverse Arm Circles

Short mosey over to the zoo for a little Dora

    100 – Decline Mericans

    200 – Dips

    300 – LBC

We then lined up for lunge o rama back to the kick ball fields.

We circled up for a little Jack Webb, 1×2 going up to 10×20

We the rotated for circle of Mary call out.

Back to the flag for the usual pleasantries.

2 New FNGs Marcellas and Scott

Mracellas from west coast and into music so we have dubbed him Enya, theme song below:

Scott is a principal at Lusher so Breakfast Club, Saved by the Bell references came up but Rooney from Ferris Bueller’s day off started to make sense but needed to be a little more obscure…so thanks to Yankee  Scott is dubbed “Shicka Kaaaa!”

  • My O Face

    My O Face

Soooo almost fartsacked this morning to walk up to the Pax and get the “Oh you showed up!”.  Which prompts the immediate reply “Oh Shit! I’ve got the Q”

So a short mosey for an even shorter warm up.

    25 SSH

    20 Mountain Climbers

    20 Parker Peters

Mosey back from whence we came over to the pull up bar station.  On the way we stopped for a quick 10 Mericans and back on the track to the pull up station.  Broke up into 3 groups:

Count was 10 Push Pulls (1 pushup followed by 1 pull up) should have done 2 of each.

Other paxs did Lunges & some other exercise

We then moseyed over the the soccer field and separated back into 3 groups

Count was 10 Pull ups, while the Pax did some other exercises.  I didn’t plan it and can’t remember so lets just mosey on.

    Next session was DORA

    100 Carolina Dry Docks

    200 Dips

    300 LBCs

We then lunged our way to the end of the parking lot and jogged to the kick ball field for a circle of fire.  Increasing reps of Mericans around the circle till we each got to do 5 reps.  Tclaps to Pony Boy for keeping me honest on these.  We rotated on to our six and finished with a little Mary (Box Cutters & Russian Twist).

  • Taking a Mulligan

Despite the threat of rain a dozen pax gathered to start week off right.  We had Cavalier with a Kotter, and 2 new FNGs

Moseyed over to the field in front of the zoo where we warmed up with

    • SSH x 22
    • Forward Arm Circles – 11
    • Reverse Arm Circls – negative 11

We then lined up to do some BLIMPS.  As was Monday we substituted Box Cutters in lieu of Burpees and we started at 10 going up from there.  We shuttled back and forth from the starting point to the parking lot and back.  Doing an exercise at each end.

We then moseyed over to the pull up station where Pax did Pull ups with Mericans in between.  Doubling the Mericans in between.  Pull up 1, 2 Mericans, Pull up 2, 4 Mericans…up to Pull Up 5.  While waiting rest of pax did LBCs and LBTs

Poor description from the Q led the first wave to do Pull up 1, 2 mericans, Pull 1, 2, followed by 4 Mericans all the way to Pull up 1,2,3,4,5 followed by 10 Mericans.  I like the tougher version of this and will try it in the future.

We then moseyed over to the shelter.

    • LL Power Up x12
    • RL Power Up x12
    • Dips x12
    • Rosalita x12
    • Pickle Pounders x12
    • RFM x12
    • Russian Twists x12

We wrapped up the Shelter with a minute of the People’s throne and back to the flag.

Landing stripped noticed we had 2 minutes lefts….being Monday and all

    10 Burpees!

2 FNGs came out, Gabriela loves volleyball and Clampett lives on North Shore and loves to shoot
