  • 610 Stomp #143

    610 Stomp #143

T-Claps to YHC for completing the CrawfishMan Triathlon.  Can you give t-claps to yourself?  HECK YES!  However, YHC’s run time left a little to be desired.  Why is that?  The rolling hills of Bush, LA presented quite a challenge.  There was a need to do some hill work at the 610 Stomp.  While we’re at it, let’s get back to the 6-10 meaning of the 610 Stomp.

    The Thang

    • West to Marconi, North to Zachary Taylor, East to Golf Dr, South to the Jogging Track, East to Wisner, North to Zachary Taylor, U Turn back to pass Pan-Am to Golf Dr, South to baseball/palm dr, around the Practise Track to the Flag.  This forms a 3.3mish Figure 8 with 4 “hills”.
    • Stop running every 6 minutes for 10 burpees

  • Making a Backblast from Scratch

YHC typically creates his Beatdowns on paper prior to the Q that way when he returns to his CPU, all he needs to do is add an opening statement and sign off.   This post however has been created entirely from scratch as YHC created today’s beatdown on the fly.   I miss my Wienke.

W/U – rather than the traditional COP warm up, start at the first bench and do 1 Irken and 2 Squats, at the next bench do 2 Irkens and 4 squats and continue to the end of Roosevelt mall using that Jack Webb style of Irkens & Squats.

    The Thang

    • Mosey to the side of NOMA for wall-sits.  Go down the line and state your Hometown, College Alma Mater (Geaux Colonels!), and favorite Professional Sports Team.  We had a couple of Yankees with us today from Minnesota and Washington DC.  One PAX said his favorite Pro Team was Ole Miss Baseball.  I’ve placed a call to the NCAA to impose sanctions….again. It was good to hear that for the post part, F3 NOLA loves the Saints.
    • Mosey to The Foundry – Partner Up
      • 10 Under The Fence/Dive Bomber Merkins (the count)
      • Reverse Lung to Squats
      • 10 Rocky Balboa’s to Burpee
      • Pull Ups or Negative Pull Ups
      • Hanging Toe-to-Bar
    • Rinse & Repeat
    • Circle up for High Knees to Burpees on the Q Count
    • Circle up for Birth Control Merkins
      • Do 10 Mountain Climbers and then go in to Merkins.  Today we learned the ages of all of Triple Shift’s Kids by doing Merkins for each child’s age.

  • Your Kids Are How Old?!?!

YHC’s commute was from Kenner this morning.  Rather than the usual 20 min drive, it was more like 12 with very little stop lights.   With the extra time, YHC reviewed his Weinke in preparation for todays Beatdown.  A Pax can always prep for his Q, but the only true way to perfect is through experience.   YHC is grateful for F3 and it’s $0 cost mantra.  The best way to show your gratitude and “pay” back what you receive is by signing up to Q.

  • 610 Stomp is the Easiest Q Ever

0530 struck and the scheduled Q was a fartsack.  “I’LL TAKE IT”, YHC passionately exclaimed, “The Stomp is the easiest Q there is.”   As Tool pointed out, this Back Blast is the hardest part.

    The Thang:

30 min round trip on the traditional Bayou St. John route.   YHC enjoyed some quality F2 & mumblechatter with Tool & Hawgcycle.

Back at the track for a climb down the sprint ladder.

    • Run as hard as you can for 400m; recover 100
    • Run as hard as you can for 300m; recover 200

Thanks was given for the 300th anniversary of our city.  May She forever reign.  Intentions were said for her leaders and the impact they make on tomorrow.

  • Shake Down The Thunder & Seek Shelter

YHC pulled up to the Stomp at 5:25 and boy was it coming down.  Rain does not scare the PAX away, but lightening sure as heck does.   YHC & Milkman agreed that the safe road was the wisest choice; however, the Sky Q had different plans.   He had sent a messenger in a Chevy truck.  It was Tool.  Tool said “FEAR NOT, I SHALL BRING YOU TO DRYER STOMPING GROUND!”   YHC & Milkman followed Tool to the pavilion near the Festival Grounds for a good ole fashion beat down.   Inspired by the ISI challenges provided by Turbo, today’s beat down would be a game of catch up.

  • Jackson Day Race CSAUP

The GLOOM was glorious in beautiful downtown Arabi.  7 Brave PAX traveled near and far to a new race route for the 111th Jackson Day 9K race.  This new route involved historic Arabi, comfy asphalt road as racers traveled from Arabi to Chalmette, and then a lap around the Chalmette Battlefield, Home of the Battle of New Orleans.   Some PAX improved, some PAX did not; but every PAX finished respectfully and earned their Jambalaya Girl and cold beers.  There was even a guest appearance by Belloq as he is on the Board for NOTC.  PAX results below.  Link listed for full results.  Don’t forget to update your 2018 NYR.  Apologies to Sogo & Cavalier, YHC does not know their real names.

  • F2 Event – Krewe of Lourdes Carnival Ball

    Calling All PAX,

This year, I will have the privilege to reign as the 68th King of the Krewe of Lourdes.  This Krewe does not parade, but rather holds a Carnival Ball as a fund raiser for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, LA.   The Ball itself is free and open to all guest.   Immediately following the ball is a Supper Dance that includes food and entertainment from Harvey Jesus & Fire; drinks are BYOL.  Tickets are $65 per person, and can be purchased directly through myself or through Lena Nunez 504.491-5266

Some of you have already received invitations in the mail.  F3 means so much to me as it has help me become a better husband, father, son and overall man. Having the  PAX, join me that evening for a night of fun & revelry would be an amazing privilege.   My family is deeply rooted in St. Bernard Parish as well as Mardi Gras and New Orleans Culture, and I am greatly honored to serve as King.   If you have or have not had the opportunity to attend a Mardi Gras Ball, this will quite an experience.   Please consider joining me on January 27, 2018.

Thank you, Thank You Very Much,

    Timothy “Da Parish” Clements

  • It’s Cold, Wet, and I Didn’t Sign Up for This!

The Foundry is one of F3 NOLA’s most underrated AO’s.   The perfect mix of strength & cardio makes for an ideal hump day beat down.  Not to mention that there is never an empty QIC on the schedule because whether you like it or not, someone will sign you up.  Today was such a day.

“Let’s mosey to the track”  *mumblechatter “WHERE’S THE DISCLAIMER!?!”

    • Repeat while the count does 8.

YHC has been commuting from The Parish to post.  As a result, the frequency of post has dropped and the frequency of Qing has severely dropped.  Nonetheless, YHC had been put down for today’s Foundry, and Q he shall.   Rolling in hot at 5:30 on the dot, the disclaimer was given to the 8 PAX who awaited him….wait, I know that Ole Miss sticker (no not Snooze), make it a full 10 PAX. Disclaimer again and mosey to the Refinery Softball Field.

  • Lafitte’s Plunge #35 – the FNG

YHC arrived at the Plunge precisely at 0530, and to his excitement his EH had finally succeeded.  There in the water was his FNG; second to date.   The other PAX will be impressed with YHC’s ability to headlock.  Where are the other PAX?  YHC grabbed the FNG, made their way to the outside pool….locked.  Where are the other PAX?   Oh.
