    In the Gloom is when the pax meet for some pre thang foreplay just to heat things up!! Heavy winds from out the west and choppy waters set the tone for what would be a shirt soaking affair. A 2 mile treck down the Mandeville lakefront will surely get your morning started!! Rainbow Unicorn sets the pace leading with his Alicorn only to get passed in the end by shooter who smack talks his way past the young buck.On return to the shovel flag we find a cooler, heavily tagged in F3 logos, (t-claps captain sparkles… @waterboy would have thanked you) with the gas to fuel a man who is about to embark on an adventure with  the YHC.

    The Thang:

    Mosey to Marigny Ave. and head north for 1 block.

    at this point the pax is already soaking wet! YHC smiles to himself using it to gauge his beatdown abilities!!

    A short interlude in reference to life relations leads to a block long lunge walk!! And these blocks are seemingly extra long!! This is followed by a mosey for 1 block.

    Another interlude in reference to life relations leads to our next endeavor of a block long bear crawl!! (mumble chatter insert here)… followed by a mosey for one block.

    And a final interlude in reference to life relations leads to a block long karaoke. Dancing all the way to the bank!! Mosey to down the trace to the Mandeville Trailhead.

    Here a preset obstacle corse is set with rigging equipment and some 30lb coupons some of us acquired on a recent ruck event.

    The 60+ pull

    (2) 50 ft ropes attached to a 60 plus pound bag and chain lay waiting. two teams line up horizontal on opposite sides of the green space. Each rope is stretched out in opposite directions. The entire pax is in plank position. One pax gets in position to pull the dead weight towards his team. As he does the rest of the pax begin to do leg thrusts IC. Once he has pulled it the whole way the rest of the pax switches exercise to plank jacks IC. Now one pax on the opposite team does the same and when it reaches him switch back to leg thrusts until everyone has had a tug.

    2 ropes hang on opposite sides of the second story of the Trailhead. Attached is an empty bag. The pax stays in teams at the opposite end of the Trailhead. PAX completes various exercises with one member from each team running with the 30lb coupon. He puts it into the bag, runs up the stairs, pulls the bag up, take the coupon, throws the bag back down, and takes the coupon downstairs and back to the team. The pax does:

    Squat Jumps IC x10

    Slow Lunges IC x10

    Merkins IC x10

    Freak Nastys x10

    Freddie Mercuries IC x10

    LBC IC x10

    rince and repeat

    until completion.

    At this point the I’m asking who is still alive for the Indian run back to the Shovel Flag???

    Everyone is eager to engage!! lol!

    Once at the Shovel Flag COT, BOM tanked up prays us out. and to the cooler we go!

  • We Don’t Gamble In This House!

    Pulling up to the AO the YHC notices some pax gathered around 1 particular clown car. At a closer look not 1 but 2 flats on a Cadillac… well not so much a Cadillac… more like a scion or Nissan or some kind of import that any union guy would love to bring a baseball bat to.. “well how the hell did that happen??” is the common question amongst the mumble chatter.. either way the show must go on!!

    in a pearl the pax takes turns flipping the cards over in much anticipation to what the next card will be. Grunts and grumble along with Grundy over spirited chatter broke the silence of the gloom…

    after the last card top it off with

  • Milestone Marsh Inauguration!!

    Even before the crack of dawn 4 warrior pax made a decision this morning to start their week off in beast mode!!! Before beginning I myself welcomed the eager eyes with an official introduction to the new AO of the northshore division. Going back to the basics fundamentals are key. And form is everything . So with that being said we bounced right into it!!

    01:00 push-ups to time or failure

    01:00 sit-ups to time or failure

    01:00 pull-ups to time or failure

    1 mile run (all in under 08:03!!)

    rince and repeat…( exclude the mile run)

    and for a small finale we circled up on the court for some time in some plank variations my count of corse was extremely slow (that’s so unlike me)  j-los 10 ic and heal taps 10 ic. COT BOM giving the man upstairs all the glory!

    On a side note every pax there has shown growth in some way shape or form. it’s awesome to see a man transform in front of your eyes..so guy keep showing up!! dig deep and give everything you’ve got!!

  • north shore beatdown 5-20-17

    man what a day!

    an 11 mile ruck last night… then right back at it in the gloom for some physical and mental self inflicted pain!!!

    pax of 12!!! man f3 north shore is certanly showing growth!! two fngs this morning!! hate hate these young bucks were not even old enough to go buy grandpa a pack of smokes!!

    610- 2 mile warm up.. no worries turbo we maintained a gazelle’s pace.

    into an extended warn up pearl.. 50 ssh. in cadence, toe touches, wind mills, little arm circles both directions, some other shoulder/arm workout where we extend our arms and flip our hands over.. did plenty of those. 50 steel jacks to a mosey

    then we circled up for some super slow squats. some balance on one foot exercises both sides.. thanks chewy!! then a side plank while the pax did merkins around the pearl.. for a few rounds.. shoulder taps into a merkin.. ONE… then same thing decline on the wall.

    straight into a lunge walk across the green.. come back hopin!! then back in a bear crawl,, come back hoping again!! back on the wall we side planked as the pax did a few rounds of merkins. then again lunge walks and hops and bear crawls and hops. some step ups

    ei did us a favor burning out our hips.. with multiple leg lift exercises… thanks ei now the pax can’t walk straight…

    mosey back to the flag as the pax is drenched in their own perspiration..  for chewys 7 minutes of yoga and 6 minutes of marry!!! cool man.

    great day to raise up out the fart sack and post to the pax guys!

    got out the car this morning to find half the pax at the end of a 2 mile run…. way to go guys.. goruck is right around the bend!!!

    630 sharp we opened up with a mosey to the first COP…

    side straddle hops

    seal jacks

    butt kicks

    knee highs

    slow squats

    and Cossack squats (hope you guys hated that!!)

    then a mile mosey over to the bb court with suprise lunges and dreaded bunny hops to keep em on their toes!! lol

    center court for another cop

    started with an exercise I’m sure theres a name for but just have no idea what its called…:( something like the catalina wine mixer without the merkin… although next q i will be sure to include that merkin!! and include the ones i left out this time

    then side plank while the pax counts off then a merkin and switch sides… x10

    bear crawl across the court round the jungle gym into three pull ups and three dips rinse and repeatx4

    into suicedes on the court both backwards and forwards….

    joined by some potential fngs at the flag to finish it off with a ball of man in the cot..

    top it off with f2 over a cup of joe and talk about how we can go even harder this upcoming week!!!

  • Kick the Q like a hakki sack!!

    Started the morning in total darkness 15 minutes early to get a warm up jog in preparation for the tough mudder. Then a pax of 5 quickly turned to a pax of 8 as we returned the shovel flag. mosey east to circle up straight into some SSH, Knee highs, butt kicks, alternating lunges, side step squats, and jump squats.

    then another mosey onto the next pearl for a round of merkins, shoulder taps, and freak nasties, then again in the incline, and as we cry for the burn we continue in the decline position and top it off with some simple but effective arm raises.

    and again we mosey to the end of the lakefront for a game of “catch me if you can”… we pair off and half the pax takes off running around the park while the other half does 5 burpies. then we have to try and catch up and tag your partner (who’s halfway around the stretch running full speed…) so he can do his 5 burpies. alternating between burpies and star jumps 4 times around the park. as we are all huffing and puffing the pairs go into a backpedal/sprint race  from 3 landmarks only to tag your partner to do the same.

    we mosey on down to circle up and work on our wife pleasers, side abdominal raises( both sides) and then eiei takes q for his jane fonda routine to keep everyone in check!!

    mosey on down with a sprint to the flag for 6 min of mary and chewy takes the q for his brutal routine of peter parkers, parker peters, mountain climbers, full sit ups paired with russian twists and some other weird workouts i can’t remember the name of, but killer for sure!!

    cot to add a fng brandon who’s now knows as “tree hugger” for his environmental occupation!!
